My neighbors are obsessed about being the Jones'
You know that phrase, keeping up with the Jones', well, they are trying to be the bigger, better, badder, hotter neighbor in the neighborhood. I am very prideful about my yard, my flower garden, and my berry bushes. I work 6 days a week, but on the 7th day, I spent the afternoon mowing,weed eating, cleaning etc. No matter WHAT I do, they have to do it better. I planted flowers, and within 2 hours, she was out planting MORE flowers then me ((Not a coincidence because it was the same type just more)) When I mow, she mows, when I weed eat, she is eats, when I do ANYTHING, I look over and there she is, either going to get the stuff she needs to get, or doing the same thing. Every year for Christmas I put up lights, last year it was so bright it looked like she was trying to land a damn plane. It's insane! She had three flood lights illuminating her house, making it so bad we had to put up sheet and blankets on the window because even with room darking shades and curtains it was so bright we couldn't sleep. I dont know what to do, if I should confront her, or chalk it up with her being a nut job, or what?! I feel like everything I do is under a microscope.
((While I typed this I took a break to walk my dog and she is putting out 5 bird feeders to trump my 3 bird feeders, and two hummingbird feeders)) nuts huh?!?!

Start putting gawd awful lawn ornaments in your yard, park some cars on cinderblocks out front. Chain a big dog to the car. J/K
She must have something wrong to think she has to "one up" you. Annoying, I know, but she probably envies you. Maybe she wants to be your friend.

What a shame. I had a neighbor kinda like that, but she copied everything I did, from planting the same flowers to putting a dumb red bow on her mailbox for X-Mas. It bothered me also. I am thinking she must be very jealous of you with her wanting to go one better. Hang in there and don't go loosing any sleep over that. I got lucky because my neighbor finally moved and bought another house in a more expensive part of town, so now I can smile, thinking of how much more it costs her to live that life LOL. Take it in as a compliment to you.

That is so funny. I would try it. Borrow those things, then when she puts them out take them down. LOL

I'd do it in a heartbeat. They way they are keeping up with the latest and greatest.

maybe you should put up a sign on your side of property line....
<----- Jonesing to "keep up with the Jones' "
The Jones' ---------------->
top arrow pointing to her house, bottom arrow pointing toward yours. Very large letters so its visible from the street.
One Big Ass Mistake, America!
