Why does your body have to go bad at old age?

This might be kinda long and boring. I just had to get things off my chest. I have had neck a shoulder problems for a long time do to a fall. Will , last year, it got so bad , I finally went to the dr. My back also hurt. What actually finally got me to the dr, is because my leg hurt very bad. My husband kinda made me go because I was having problems walking. They did a nerve conduction and said I had nerve damage in my leg and sent me to a back dr. They did mri's on my neck and back and said I had bad problems with both. I really wanted my neck checked out worse. But they said my back was so bad that I needed surgery. In November I had the surgery. They said it was worse then the mri showed. The bones had rubbed together and caused jagged edges. Well, that got better, but I still had pain in my back but worse. They said that I have had this problem for a long time, just didn't realize it because the other part of my back was worse. So they sent me to a dr that specializes in injections. I've been taking the injections once a month. My neck never stopped bothering me, but I kept my mouth shut and just dealt with it. Will, now for about a month., I have devopled a bad problem in my right arm. It hurt severly in the upper arm. The whole arm tingles nearly all the time. I swore I was done with drs. Will my husband asked me to at least tell the new dr at my next injection. That was yesterday. He didn't know about my neck problems. So he went and pulled up the mri from a year ago on the computor. He came back and told me that I had a serious problem. He said the mri showed some serious problems. He said where the problem is would cause 1. lower back pain 2. neck and shoulder pain 3. leg pain and 4. arm pain and numbness. He is afraid it has progressed to far. I told him I couldn't do anything as I will be paying on the other surgery for a long time. So he said instead of the injection in the back, he is gonna do the neck and see what happens. He put 6 injections in my neck!!!!!!!!!!! So today, the pain is better. Hallijuah!! But the tingleing is still there. I am just so frustrated. I am so tired of all these problems and the pain and the doctors. I havent told anyone at work about the recent problems. I hate complaining and sounding like a big baby. My husband hates it when I talk that way, because the problems are real. I hate this so bad. I hate going to the doctor. I hate the expense I am causing us. Thank ya'll for letting me unload. I just had to talk about this. I am trying so hard to be brave and hold it all in, but I am about at the end of my rope. My husband is great. He takes care of me. But I hate that tooo. I am a very independant person, and I hate depending on anyone. I better cut this off. It's getting too long. Thanks for letting me bore ya'll.

I appreciate it. I could use all the prayers and thoughts I can get. It could always be worse. At least I don't have any life threating problems. Gotta look on the sunny side to keep it together.

When they did the surgery on my back in November, they put a metal implant with screws in my spine. I'm kinda afraid of a Chiropractor, with that in me. Thanks so much for the thoughts. I knew I could come here to my brothers and sisters. I am so fortunate to have a great husband. But I get so tired of all this. So I came to my second family. Love you guys

Know what you mean. Thoughts and prayers headed your way.
Not long ago I saw a neighbor from up the street and asked him how he was doing (he is 95). Told me his legs were really hurting him (he was planting his garden). I told him that I thought that when we are born we should have all those aches and pains and as we get older then the pain and sicknesses go away. Each year as we got older we would feel better.

I can relate to being very independent and then having to rely on others. I know it is really hard to have to rely on your DH but be glad you have him there to rely on. As for the pain - I can only hope they find some relief for you. And 6 injections I would have probably passed out (and I take 2 shots a day for insulin). Sending some very soft hugs your way.
