Be careful what you do...when I was in 5th grade i had a year full of health problems, and a teacher very similar to the one you are talking about. She said all sorts of bad things about my mom, cursed her terribly in front of me. And I, not thinking much of it, told my mom the things she said. Obviously my mom was furious. The day after my 5th grade graduation, while other parents were hugging the teacher, telling her how badly they would miss her, my mom approached this teacher, and told her she was thrilled to be getting her child out of her class. She never physically touched the teacher...i was there....only told her she was a horrible teacher and a horrible human being. Anyhow, 2 weeks or so into my summer vacation, police officer presented my mother with a summons to appear in court. Long story short, for causing this teacher "emotional distress" my mother received 2 years of community service and a record. I am now 26 years old, and this incident is STILL on my mom's record and has prevented her from getting jobs.

For giving her opinion? Is free speech not allowed where you lived? As long as there was no threat, I don't see how the heck they got a conviction.

Just an update, if things don't go well tomorrow at a meeting, then as of Monday morning, my son will no longer be enrolled in that school district. Things have only gotten worse, even though I'd contacted the superintendent and principal and they assured me that things would change. Well of course, they haven't. My son has been struggling with a bad flare up of his asthma and has been hospitalized for it recently and missed a week and a half of school from it. Well he's still not back to what he should be put the school assured the doctor and myself that they could give him his breathing treatment at noon and at any time else that he might need it if it wasn't working, they would contact me so I could come get him and do his breathing machine treatment at home. Well on Wednesday, my son son called and said he was having a hard time breathing even after his treatment so I went up there to get him. I got there and my son was sitting on the bed struggling to breathe, doing this scary gasping breathing so I gave him a dose of the fast acting inhaler and was heading out the door to take him home for the other treatment and possibly to the ER again. Well some lady, the "absence" officer came and stood in the doorway and told me that I was not allowed to leave with my son until we discussed his absences (yes, he has a lot of abscences but all are excused by his doctor because he was out due to his medical problems/hospitalizations/specialist visits), I told her that they were all excused and she said that didn't matter and I told her that I was leaving with my son because his health is more important than her crap. Then she told me that the only way I could leave with him was if I agreed to call her later that afternoon. I mean, she was actually standing there blocking the doorway. Well I told her to basically f*ck off, pushed past her, took my son home and did his treatment and then finally got his breathing under control. I'm just tired of it all, so I called the superintendent and let him know what happened and that I was not happy about it, then he set up a meeting and then we'll go from there. I'm thinking though that he'll definitely be taken out Monday. I can't see the meeting do any good.

I have to agree. Somebody would have gotten hurt. My daughter has asthma and when they get to where they cant hardly breathe like that its scary. They need treatments fast. They would have been really mad when I got done with that woman. We have an officer that stays on the school ground. He defintely would have been involved. So sorry he has to go thru this. I would take him out as soon as possible.

Don't the "school people" know that you can die from an asthma attack? There is a local doctor who watched his wife die from one about 30 years ago, even though he was doing everything he was trained to do to save her! I wouldn't hesitate to do whatever I had to do to get my child the help needed - even knocking down a teacher or school official to get my child out of the school to take to the ER.

WOW! I would be called the police & charges her with kidnapping. She was trying to hold you there against your will.
I would also call the local news and tell them. Thats total BS!
