Change of subject: Gay Marriage

Ok, you will notice that I said I was instigating further argument because it was said that it isn't mentioned in the new testament. No, of course I don't follow the book to a T, I never said I do... I just said you can't accept one and not the other just because you don't like what it says. You can't pick and choose. Well, obviously you can pick and choose and a lot of ppl do (probably including me about something I'm not even aware of) but none of us should.

I guess I'm just offended by the pot kettle comment... cause you are making it sound like I said or inferred things I didn't... or am I taking it to mean more than it does?

I wasn't referring to anyone in this thread w/ that, it was more of a generalization of how some people are. :o I also wasn't referring to anything you said in your post. :)

Its nice to see how easy going this thread is. I like when someone uses Bible scripture to show their basis without banging people uspide the head with it. It seems to get across so much better!

To me, even if you believe the Bible says it's wrong, I can only control myself, not anyone else. Who someone has sex with just doesn't affect anyone else, unless you are one of the people doing the sex.

I mean, how is it hurting my marriage if TNgirl sleeps with a man or a woman? (Just an example)

In one way, I don't care what goes on behind someone's bedroom door. But, on the other hand I get tired of things such as this being shoved down my throat and being told I am a bad person because I don't believe in something that is not natural. I don't even base my opinion on scripture, even though that does tell us it is wrong...I just don't need scripture to tell me, to me it is obvious.

Am I perfect? Long way from being so. I just don't think there should be laws to force me to accept things.

to me, i don't view these sort of issues in terms of how it affects ME personally but rather how it affects society as a whole. i don't feel like debating this subject anymore so i won't but just felt like adding that part in.
