You have GOT to be kidding me!

Its not enough that I have to listen to other peoples music when their cars are "thumping" down the street, but now people are starting to put speakers on the outside of their car! I was picking up my kids from school yesterday and I heard a radio and it kept getting louder and louder and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I saw a car turn the corner coming towards me and it had a loudspeaker (like ice cream trucks have) bolted right under the front end of the car!

I totally thought that it was just some idiot who thought he was cool... but then on my way home I saw ANOTHER one! WTF is up with that? I hope that it doesn't start to be a new trend

I don't know if that will really catch on. Around here they are pretty big on giving out tickets for that crap. At the very least (and I am sorry cause I know this will offend someone), hopefully it won't be that vulgar f this and that rap crap that they love to play now. I don't mind the rap music from when I was in high school, infact I still listen to it. But this vulgar crap where they say F blah repeatedly and very few other words... well that just annoys me and I don't believe for a minute that they're expressing themselves cause it takes absolutely no imagination to say the F word (yes, I say it).

Ok, I guess this wasn't meant for debate... I just had to throw it in there anyways.

I haven't seen that around here and I hope I don't, but it's just a matter of time. How disrespectful does one have to be? I wish the cops gave out more tickets for loud radios, I don't actually know if they do. It drives me nuts when they have their windows rolled down with music blaring. On Halloween one idiot drove down the block full of little children trick or treating and I heard the word "cootie" come from that car and I know they were not talking about cooties spread from boys to girls... just disgusting.

I really hope it doesn't catch on here. I've got a neighbor across the street that likes to open all the doors on his car and the trunk and turn the music up really loud. Then he goes in the house and listens to it in there. Boy is it getting on my nerves. Why doesn't he just buy a stereo for his house so the rest of us don't have to listen to the one in his car.. The other night he started playing it after nine o'clock when my husband goes to bed. It makes us want to stick out head out the door and holler fior him to turn it down.

Actually in Florida there is a citation especially for playing music loud enough it can be heard for more than 25' from a vehicle. Just ask my neighbors all of their friends have gotten them and now have figured out if they don't want to get more of them - they turn their stereo off before they turn on our street. I have the non emergency number on speed dial to have the police come out and shut them down. I am the youngest homeowner on our street and I don't put up with that crap especially from non-homeowners.

What makes some people think that everyone else wants to hear their music. Most of the people that do this around here listen to rap or hip hop which I can't stand so it's very annoying. No offense to those of you that like that type of music. I wonder what they would think if people drove around blaring classical music in their cars. I wonder what that would sound like with the base turned all the way up. LOL

We have a noise ordinance for the cars thumping, but its not enforced unless someone calls and complains. *sigh*

I would be almost happy with that as around here, it is Spanish music that sounds similar to polka with a lot of base. The worst part is, these folks also like to have big Fiestas and play the music really loudly all night. It takes the police hours to respond. We have a special loud party ordinance with a dedicated phone line, but it is only operational M-F 9-5 (prime party time LOL). It really stinks when my husband has drill and needs to be up at 4 am and we have to hear BOOM BOOM BOOM all freaking night.
