Okay, my turn.
First, let my preface this by saying, that by now, I'm pretty ticked, 'cuz I already typed out this long vent, once, and as I tried to submit, my 'puter froze!!!
'K, here goes. First thing...I've never seen any replies to anything posted by Krismoose, that I would consider offensive or rude. On the other hand, the way her DD has attacked anyone who dare reply with anthing other than a thank you, I would consider rude. I myself had made replies to a couple of her posts, simply stating that I feel, as most others do that have been here for any amount of time, that feedback to a post, good or bad, is often appreciated, as it saves time, not having to click on a link to a dead post. And, they often keep us from giving our info to a site that is a spam generator. And, I don't want to have to add those sites to my blocked senders list, if it's not necessary, as some of my email addy's, have a limit to how many you can block. Anyway, as I have said, the reply is an attack at the post...NOT the poster
As far as reposts go, as others have already stated...it's better not to reply, as you just bump it back to the top of the page. It's better to report it to the mods and let them handle it. Or, if everyone just ignores it, it will fall off the page, faster. It does bother me a bit, when you see someone repost, and the OP's thread is just a few posts away, right there on the same page. That, I think is rude! What I do in that situation, Is bump the OP's post, so that it is back above the reposters post. Make sense?
One final vent...I know, if I think a post is good enough to deserve a 5 star rating, that I'm also, gonna leave a comment, to compliment it, as I believe most people would do. But, I'v seen a bunch of posts, pop up with 5 star ratings, almost as soon as their posted, and not having a single reply. That leads me to believe, that these people are rating their own posts. While it's probably allowed, as it probably couldn't be done if it weren't, I just don't feel that it's an honorable thing to do.

Ok, on the reposts. I REALLY like it when people warn us that is does not come or it is an old offer. If I really want the offer then I go in and apply for it but if it is dead or doesn't ever come then I appreciate others who have tried to get it warn us about it. I would try to do the same thing for others.
I think sometimes people are so excited and anxious to be helpful when they find a good offer/freebie they do not take the time to look at the rules of the offer or how old it is or if it is a repost.
Let's try to see the mistake as trying to be helpful and not irritating. We all get excited when we see something we think is really good and want to share it here with our friends. Hooray for that attitude and I would't want to discourage it. That is how we get the goodies in the first place. We all make mistakes, none are perfect.

Now, I am the one that got my butt jumped by jwirth06 (something like that, not sure the exact name spelling).....................
You shouldn't have to explain yourself to anyone.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense who saw your post, knew that you were NOT trying to ''act cool'', but instead inform us that the offer was over.
If it was a sweepstakes in the "Instant Win" or "Daily" forums, someone would be expected to point out that it was over.
I just find it RUDE that a new person goes in to ANY site and starts calling people names, and acting like they own the place.

.
My problem with reposts is that the majority of the time, they are just a few spaces away from the same post, on the same page. How could someone not see that? You dont even have to do a search for it!
Do we really need 5 threads for the Jockey Underwear giveaway??
Everytime there is a repost, it just bumps something else to the next page. THAT'S how we end up missing things......because they got bumped back by something thats already been posted 4-5 times. JMO.

If we didn't try to do something about the reposts that forum would be utter chaos. I know reposts are always going to happen because sometimes the search feature is tricky to use because the search word has to be so many characters long or it won't go through and not only that but some people just refuse to even bother doing a search at all. Being new is not really an excuse because if they bothered to read the very first thread that is pinned at the top of the forum they would see that they need to search first. They don't even bother to at least look down the page. If you (people in general) want to post something and have done a search and see that it's already been posted then just bump the original thread. There is no sense in having 10 different posts for the same offer. Also if someone is afraid they may have missed something good they can always go beyond page one and go through the other pages of posts.

You need to realize though, regarding reposts. The search function can only do so much. Again the example I stated in a earlier post. The diabetes picture frame. Yes it was posted a billion time, but here is my issue. Many people search different words and it come up a different way each time.
The many ways I saw this post.
Dietbetes Picture Frame
Picture Frame for Dietbetics
Wooden Frame
Picture Frame
Go Insulin Picture Frame
Each come up a different search. Now some may say to go through the freebie forum. How many pages would you like us to go back. Then the post gets posted. Now the origional poster bumps her same post, because the wants the "credit". Now we have 2 of the same exact threads on the same page. I am sorry, I have seen done a lot also. I normally check the first 2-3 pages everyday, but it makes me mad when I see 2 of the same post, especially on the first page, because the origional poster is getting credit. I like to see all different posts on the first page. Not duplicates. These people are bumping themselves, or their friends are bumping it up.

All I did was put "picture frame" in the search box and all the posts came up. It's not that hard to figure out. I'm a little confused when you say that it makes you mad when you see two of the same posts on the first page because the original poster is getting credit. If I see a repost I bump the original thread (thread that was posted first) and delete the one that was reposted. The first person to post something is the one that would get credit. Whatever that means since there are no prizes or special priveledges that are given out for being the first one to post something.

Yes, it has. I'm desperately trying to make it a better place. It's just that ever since I posted the guidelines we've been having "new" people signing up and posting the same three offers. This is being done deliberately. It's not because of the search feature not working.
