Petty whine about school uniforms
I went Burlington's yesterday to get my DD's school uniforms.
A sz 6 polo shirt fits everywhere except the length. They're too short and come untucked when she raises her arms. A sz 7 is long enough but fits her baggy and the school doesn't want the shirts to be baggy.
A sz 6 skort is too tight in the waist and a sz 7 is too big in the waist.
A sz 6 pant is too short and a sz 7 is too long. (and they say the pants can't touch the floor)
So she'll have either too tight and too short and high-waters or too loose and too long and baggy! GMFB!
I know I can get the 7's and hem them and take the waist in but damn! If I wanted to be a seamtress, I woulda been! Why can't they make 1/2 sizes for kids?? And never mind the fact that no two brands are sized the same.
It took me sooo long to buy
6 s/s polo shirts (2 white, 2 hunter, 2 burgundy)
3 l/s shirts (1 white, 1 hunter, 2 burgundy)
2 s/s button-up shirts (white)
2 l/s button-up shirts (white)
3 skorts (2 Khaki, 1 Navy)
3 shorts (2 Khaki, 1 Navy)
3 pants (2 Khaki, 1 Navy)
1 jumper (khaki)
a brown belt
a pr of white Nikes
a pr brown maryjanes
white socks
White, burgundy, hunter and navy ponytail holders
White, burgundy, hunter and navy hair clips
and a tan backpack.

Hippie, Old Navy has slim and husky sizes online. Gap does to if you can afford it. Those are two places I usually get my son's pants because he is so skinny. I know they probably cost more but it beats having to sew every pair of pants. I know because I used to do it lol!

I should have gotten them online earlier. I can find slims in regular clothes for her, just not the uniforms. A 7 slim fits her fine in most jeans.
I hemmed the jeans about an inch, but didn't cut off the excess, so I can take it out when she grows. I took the waists up a 1/2 on each side, her belt will cover that and I can take that out later also. So she should be able to wear them for a long time.
Shopping for uniforms is boring for her and me also. But it will save a lot of trouble later on, no problem deciding what to wear in the mornings and no complaining that soneone else's clothes are cuter/better than hers.
