Exclamation Just need to scream .........

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

I needed that. Im going to kill my "manager". The big witch has been off work for over a month now due to hearing problems. I got left in charge, great, no big deal. My money on my box, register and safe have all come up perfect. Now last night said witch comes in to do our mid month machine count out(I work in a gambling establishment), she doesn't need to be there mind you, I can handle it just fine on my own, before the guy gets there to do the count, she starts gripping that I'm $280 short on the count. I find the mistake she made and fix it, when the guy gets there, we have $100 more that he says we should have. I go thru redo my numbers then do his, he miscalculated, problem fixed. So we get that done and I get a hotdog order, I go to fix it and witch woman pays out on a ticket, now she's not supposed to be in the money, but she does it anyway. Well wouldn't you know it at the end of the night I'm exactly $100 short. Now the guy who owns the place is pissed off at me and I have to pay the money back, good thing is I only have to pay half since I have proof that she paid out a ticket. I go in today and she's changed all my paper work, how we clock in and out, we're things are kept, who has what cleaning duties. This freaking witch worked like 3 hours this week and got paid $60 today. I told the owner that one of us had to go. She hates the fact that my money is always right and that I get along with my co worker and customers. If she screws with me tomorrow she's gonna get told where to stick her damn lists and notes. I've had it.

If that wasn't enough I just sat in Mcdonalds drive thru for half an hour to be told they were out of sweet tea. So i said screw it and went to Taco Hell, guess what they were out of sweet tea too and they messed up my friggin food order. I'm not a very happy person right now, think I'm go hit the wild on Runescape and kill someone.

You sound like you are in just about the same place I was a few nights ago when I came in here and posted in the v/w section. I hope things get better for you.

I have never understood businesses making an employee responsible for money when more than one person has their hands in it. It just is not fair and I do not blame you at all for being fed up. I remember a long time ago I had a friend that worked at WalMart. They had her and two or three other girls running the same register and stocking at the same time. Who ever was close to the register at the time would log on to ring people up and by the end of the night, all of them had been in that money at some point. If they were short, all of them had to split the shortage. There is no way I would be responsible for someone else's screw ups.

And what is up with Taco Bell lately? I used to get good service at the one near us, but lately they are just terrible. I also had to call the other night and gripe about our order being screwed up.

I think if I were you, at work I would tell them straight up if they expect you to be responsible for the money, then you insist that everyone else keep their hands out of it. You have a track record of coming up even at the end of the night and you will continue to come up even as long as you are the only one handling it.

Hope today is a better day for you.

I agree Andrea, there is no way I would pay for someone elses mistakes. For that matter I wouldn't pay for my own mistakes. That the risk the company takes if their employees money is off. If they are over do they pay you that overage? Don't think so, so why you anyone pay out of their own pocket for a mistake that was made when giving out change etc. I know alot of companies have a policy that once you are short or over 3 times then you are let go. I think that is fair as mistakes do happen.
    Good luck to you.

    witch

I would never pay for a mistake when more than one person had their hands on the money. I would tell the employer 1. How is it I am right on then she comes in and I am short. 2. Why was she there anyway. If she is off because of medical she should not be there. Maybe she needs to come back. 3. Companies that handle cash usually have bonding companies that pay if an employee hits the til. If he does not then that is his fault. It is also his fault if he has no security where the money is being counted since most places need to worry more about the workers than the customers.

If the other two people made mathematical mistakes while counting the drawer, then they shouldn't be employed there to begin with. Obviously they don't know how to count well enough to be dealing with the customers. I think your record should have spoken for itself and you shouldn't have been made to pay back any of the money. I'd be searching for a new job if I were you.

Sorry to hear that. It's bad enough when we have to work, but then a manager has to make life miserable. Hope it gets better for you.

welll here's an update. Witch calls me tonight and starts in on how she's not a thief and she's not paying anything back. I just put the phone and dealt with my customers while she ranted and raved. I get off the phone with her and she proceeds to call me back not once or twice but 5 times. By the end of it, she says she's figured out where the money is and she'll take care of getting it back. I love my job, it's not hard and I get paid decent money, I enjoy the people who come in and gamble and even those who come in and order like 20 freakin hotdogs at a time. I am FREAKING GOOD at my job, but she's driving me nuts, why can't she just be happy that she trained me so well at my job instead having to cause drama all the time. I think I'm gonna hand in my 2 week notice on monday. Between her and a few other things like working 6 days and still not getting 40 hours, because instead of staying open till midnight the owner has me close at 10pm, I've had it. I've got a good track record when it comes to handling money (as long as it's not my own) I doubt if I'll have any trouble finding another job. Gaming places are opening up here all the time and the older places are always looking for reliable help. Thanks for listening(reading) my vent.

I would go find another job. It's not worth the stress. The witch will probably miss you when your gone. She is only a good manager if she has good employees, and looks like she will be losing you.

I'm glad you're putting in your notice. I'm sure it won't be hard for you to find another job considering how good of an employee you are. Good luck!
