Care Bears Auction
Hi have to really take a sec, and vent abit.. an auction was posted, now in archives for Care bears, this auction was for a charity.
I offered $25.00 for the Bears, I didn't pick a particular Bear, however was clear in the bid it was for the bear(s), that is plural.
Here is the answer with my quote as well:

This is for your son. !
congrats you are the winner!!
I will donate the bears to the Armys day care program.
Firstly I guess I won, now I get to pick one, as the other people involved have picked thiers..and I want them to be sent to me to donate to my "Toys for Tot's", in Minneapolis..I am not alone in this and feel abit confused, I am not trying to "stir trouble", but if you look at this auction, it seems as I used the word, "bears", I assume that meant more than other bids combined, I had NO TIME to write them down, I posted in a frenzy, that day.
I need advice, this is a great board, I several friends here and don't wish to be upset, but I am.
I don't think this was fair, and it was confusing, but I didn't bid on ONE BEAR.
I bid on the BEARS, period.
And I never suggested to donate to the Army a very good cause however.
Suggestions?
I just heard today, I get ONE Bear after this was posted, I had won, you can review this at Archived Auctions.
And only one of two choice...?
Thanks!

Re: Care Bears Auction
I remember reading that post and the way I read it is that you were supposed to pick one particular bear, state which one you were bidding on and bid on that bear only. Maybe I didn't read it right. It wouldn't be the first time. LOL

Re: Care Bears Auction
I just went back and viewed the thread and it looks like a few people got confused. You were supposed to pick one bear and let the op know which bear you were bidding on. One person did say they were bidding a dollar on each of the bears other than that the other bidders didn't specify which one they were bidding on. It doesn't appear that the auction even lasted a full three days. It was started on the 16th and ended on the 18th so it wasn't even a full three days. Also in your post you stated that you were bidding $25 but didn't say that you were bidding on all of them. It just says that you made a bid of $25. I hope everything gets straightened out. It was for a good cause but I think there was a lot of confusion. LOL

Re: Care Bears Auction
Thanks so far, but I did state BEARS, not just a bear, or "pick one for me" and I think the cause is great, it is a huge confusion.
Actually with no kids nor nieces who know anything about these bears, it seemed a 'no brainer"...I quote, for the BEARS which meant to me all.
I posted at 5:08 AM CST or close..it was for the BEARS..and further again, I wanted these to go to my charity not the one picked and all others involved got thiers, 2 are left..I chose for the BEARS..
And was claimed the winner, it is RIGHT THERE.
Take care, the OP, claimed me the winner, period.
And I should have been asked first at $25.00.
JMO..
And it seems it didn't last the full 3 days as required, either.

Re: Care Bears Auction
I hope you get everything worked out. It definitely was confusing but I think the op had good intentions. Hopefully the two of you will be able to work something out.

Re: Care Bears Auction
I was one that didn't read it correctly. I just seen that it was for a good cause and I bid. Truly I don't care a bit one about the bears...lol. I just wanted to help out. I am game to do whatever it takes to help her get things right with everyone. She didn't mean for this to happen, I am sure, so I am more then willing to help to make this right, even if I need to retract my bid. I just hope there will be no hard feelings over all this, especially since it was just a simple mistake.

Re: Care Bears Auction
First off I should mind my own business but since you posted this 'vent" I am going to respond.
Dawn is a wonderful person and I know it was never her intentions to create this confusion. Her post is clear that you were to pick your bears. Also it WAS 3 days, it ran all day the 16th, all day the 17th and ended on the 18th...thats 3 DAYS.
Its bad enough to have confusion but then you get some one who had NOTHING to do with the auction in there posting over and over, utter nonsense
too.
Tell ya what. I will pay your freaking 25.00 bid if you just drop this nonsense now.
I seem to remember a box that was promised BY YOU cat for my Son that was never sent even though it was promised. I never came here to vent about that, it was a RAOK.....do me this one favor and lets drop them both.
Be who you are and say what you feel, those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Re: Care Bears Auction
I was wondering why anyone would even have to pick a bear, if it wasn't going to be sent to them. What difference does it make, which one you pick, if you aren't going to actually get it?
I'm glad I stay out of auctions these days.

I have never had an auction but I thought the auctions ended exactly 72 hours after they are posted. It was started on the 16th so I assumed it would have ended the same time on the 19th. Sorry for giving the wrong information.
I just looked at the rules and there don't seem to be any rules pertaining to how long an auction has to last. I hope things get sorted out.

Re: Care Bears Auction
Yah its been awhile since I posted them but they have always allowed you to have your auctions for any amount of time you desire...2 days or 2 weeks even. You are supposed to have it in the subject line though, this one did.
