Re: The "Crocodile Hunter" Died
This is so sad
My prayers and thoughts is with his family and friends. I just feel bad for those children he has. I am not sure on their age but that's got to be very ruff on them regardless of age. His wife was real loving wife I just feel so sad for her as well. I just hope Steve didn't suffer.

Re: The "Crocodile Hunter" Died
his kids are 8 and 3, and this is a serious blow, he was not only a great educator, but a great environmentalist and lover of animals...Reports that I've seen so far said he died instantly.. I am so sadden, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, Terri Bindi and Bob, but also his most trusted friends, Wes Mannon and all his employees at Austrailia Zoo..he will be very sadly missed

Re: The "Crocodile Hunter" Died
I was just gonna come over her and tell the board too. I am so sad. He was not just a person that was on TV but a good guy. I saw him on tv interact with his kids and I can tell he was a great Dad too. Those poor babies. I am really so sad and I know when hubby finds out he will be too.

Re: The "Crocodile Hunter" Died
I agree he seemed to be a very loving father and my prayers go out to him and his wife and family.
As I understand it his parents owned a zoo and he grewup handling animals.
I saw a few episodes he seemed to care very deeply for his wife and kids.
He was even right there in the delivery room with his wife was having his kids.

Re: The "Crocodile Hunter" Died
Very shocking to see that he passed like that. Loved watching his shows! He always had me on edge watching them. He tried to help out the environment and I think he will always be remembered for it. So sad. Feel so bad for his wife and children.

Death of 'Crocodile Hunter' caught on video
Associated Press
Sept. 5, 2006 07:10 AM
CAIRNS, Australia - Dramatic videotape of Steve Irwin's last moments shows him pulling a poisonous stingray barb from his chest, officials said Tuesday, as tributes poured in for the beloved naturalist.
As TV's "Crocodile Hunter," Irwin made a career out of getting dangerously close to deadly beasts. But police said there was nothing suspicious about his death and no evidence he provoked the animal.
Irwin, 44, was stabbed through the heart on Monday while snorkeling with a stingray during filming of a new TV program on Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
John Stainton, Irwin's manager who was among the crew on the reef, said the fatal blow was caught on videotape, and described viewing the footage as having the "terrible" experience of watching a friend die.
"It shows that Steve came over the top of the ray and the tail came up, and spiked him here (in the chest), and he pulled it out and the next minute he's gone," Stainton told reporters in the Queensland state city of Cairns, where Irwin's body was taken for an autopsy.
The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

Re: The "Crocodile Hunter" Died
I find it ironic that out of all the animals he has ever handled/encountered it was a STING RAY that did him in. I am thankful he at least went out "with his boots on" doing what he did best. Thank GOD his daughter wasnt there tho, she must be heart broken, those two were best friends
