    Unhappy woolite pod

hello everyone. i posted something on the freebie forum but i want to whine now, so here goes. i got the woolite pod carpet cleaner freebie and was so thrilled with it. i opened it and used it on a spot on my carpet and it worked beautifully. i was in love with it. made up my mind to buy it when i made my next shopping trip to wal-mart. told everyone who would listen what a great product it was.
well, i laid it on top of my new dryer after i used it, not giving it another thought. a couple of days later, i saw where it had leaked, so i proceeded to wipe it up. the paint came off with it!!! all the way down to the metal
now my dryer is ruined and i got to thinking......if it did this, how safe is it to use in the first place?
i am just heartsick. anyone else have a problem with the woolite pod?

I'm sorry that happened to your new dryer. I have one but haven't even opened it yet. After reading your post, I'm wondering, too, how safe it is to use. Thanks for the warning.

Oh nooooo! What a bummer. I know about the leaking, but I didn't know about the paint. The first one I received leaked all over the package in transit. There was just a tiny amount left in the container. I wrote to Woolite and they were nice enough to send me another one. Guess what? It leaked all over the box too. Now I'm glad I didn't get a usable one. Thanks for the information.

Be sure to let the manufacturer know. You should be able to find a phone number or email address on the back of the card. (If you threw it out, I'm sure someone on here can help you out!) Be sure to let them know that you want the dryer repaired, or to be compensated for the repair. They will likely ask you to send in the pod (if you still have it) at there expense. They will also likely ask for pictures of the damage. The main thing is, know what you want going in and tell them, as long as it's reasonable, don't settle for less. Good luck!

Wow! Now I'm not so mad for getting an empty box! Gee the samples I get are pretty slim. I just don't know who to blame. I'll go back to websites and they say that I've already got it. I bet I get about 1/4 or less what I sign up for. I really do appreciate the things I do get. That is so sad though having paint peeling off.

I have had mine sitting on my dryer since I recieved it without issues. It did come with a cap to cover the bottom to prevent such problems, and the dryer still dries clothes, doesn't it?
Definately contact the company, but don't expect much - like I said, the dryer still works, aside form the small fact that it doesn't look pretty any more.

    Re: woolite pod

Sorry that happened to you. Although the dryer still works, they may have it repainted for you (worth asking), especially if it is fairly new and you have the receipt showing when you bought it.

I have not yet opened mine. The phone number is 1-800-451-7847 and the website is www.woolitecarpet.com.

Also, the cardboard backing clearly states: STORE ANYWHERE, EVERYWHERE.
Since this is was not true for you, it is worth investigating.

Hope they do something for you.
