You are right, but where I am, you either have to be preggers disabled or elderly and I am not any of them. Pretty much the only people that get it who are my age are pregnant.

You got me curious, so I did a search and according to this page a bong can be used as a crack pipe.

Ok, this statement is a hilarious. I am one of those that is stuck in the middle. I make too much to get assistance or qualify for any of the programs that help those that are working with no insurance. I make too little to afford to go to the doctor.
I am also one of those lucky ones. If I need antibiotics I am prescribed the synthetics because I am allergic to penicillin and sulf drugs make me sick. Because of this I end up paying an arm and a leg for antibiotics.
I am basically self-employed. The vet's office I work for offers insurance but I wont' qualify to sign up until November and that is only if I average 30 hours per week until then. Oh, but wait, my mother died in May and I took off a week....that kind of screwed up my average, along with weeks such as this that have holidays in them. So, I imagine come Novemeber I will still not have insurance.

Nope, not being sarcastic. It can also be called a crack pipe-there are several different designs(one of the fun things you learn when doing a psych rotation in a drug rehab facility-at least I have a head start on my kids when they become teenagers, but things will change sooo much) and generally can be used to smoke different things, including crack-just as the link Kyla provided says.
I also agree about the guns/shooting self, etc. avatars-I wouldn't like them, either but haven't seen any that I know of. Or sexual ones, either. Maybe I need to look closer at the ones that are showing up

I am also one of those people that slip through the cracks and have no insurance. I am not over 65, I am not pregnant, I am not according to social security considered disabled and my children are well over 18 years old. So that all makes me not eligible for medicade (tenncare in our state).
I cannot go to any of the clinics for the working poor. Even though we are poor, I don't work outside of the house, I am my husband's full time caregiver. So even though I work, I don't get paid for it, so they won't take me either.
We live on my husbands disability (which is not that much believe me), and I am suppose to have a medical procedure done every 60 days which costs almost 4,000 each time. Of course I haven't had it in months, because we sure can't afford it.
I am assuming that the person who couldn't figure out why anyone would not have insurance obviously has good health insurance. All I can say is I hope you're thankful for it, someday you could be in the same situation that so many others of us are in. Then you can ask yourself why you don't have insurance!
