I told her that it didn't matter what she thought of me and that if she expected someone to be nice to her then she should be a bit nicer herself. I really hate the people too that post "send me a nice email asking nicely and grovel on your knees if you expect me to give you something for free...." people too. I don't expect anyone to grovel for something I am fixing to put to the road and I don't want! Geez! I just expect that if they want it fine....if not then don't waste my time.

I don't know what the mods are like for your area BUT...here if you report someone or they hear of someone taking stuff and then selling it, it is immediate grounds for being banned!! It is against the rules and strictly enforced. Some people are just so greedy and tacky that it is unbelivable.

I think why people ask what it looks like is because I have driven 25 miles for something and its really a piece of crud and should have been thrown away LOL. So bear with some people that happens as well. I have also driven 20 some miles for something and they didnt have everything with something so youg et home and you dont have it all, so you have to make arrangements to go back out there. Freecycle is great but it has his moments LOL. Good luck~~

I don't mind someone asking about the condition if I fail to put that in the post. It is the attitudes that some of these folks have. I got another email asking me to take a picture so she could see if it went with the decor of her daughter's room....lol.

I would have asked about the condition myself, only because I have gone to pick up stuff from people before and the items were not even salvageable(sp)
I love freecycle, but I refuse to haul someone else trash to the dump. I am not talking about just used condition either. I am not afraid to make repairs or refinish funiture.

Most people give decent stuff away that people can actually use, but twice I have gotten trash and with the price of gas I want to be sure I will use what I am picking up. KWIM?

On my Freecycle one person must have 500 kids because every week a kid is moving out and needs a couch, fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher... etc. Its ridiculous. Today one person even posted a Want for a laptop for work, but it had to have XP on it, min of 512 megs of RAM, certain processor, I was laughing at her, why would someone give away a laptop worth at least $800, its just rude IMO. Another person asked for an Xbox for her son, 360 preferred but a regular one would do. My favorite was a guy asking for all these pieces to start up a LAB. Yeah I have your gravity table in my back pocket. I gave up I don't post or respond anymore.

    Re: People on Freecycle....AAARRRGGGHHH

The only thing that makes me mad about people on freecycle is people that take stuff that was supposed to be gifted to me. Case in point, yesterday I was to go pick up a white wicker 3 drawer dresser. I emailed the lady at midnight and she replied at 6:30 in the morning. However, I did not check my mail until about 1 in the afternoon. She had stated that she will leave it on the porch with my name on it. Well, I got over there at 2:30, knocked on the door because I didn't see it outside and she said she had put it on the porch at 10:00 in the morning. She was also offering a bookshelf. She only responded to me and the person who was supposed to get the bookshelf. She was very apologetic but very mad that someone had the nerve to take something that had someone else's name on it.

I have another story. I offered an omlette maker to someone and had it sitting on the porch. The lady had described her vehicle to me for some strange reason. Well, I happened to be checking the mail and saw her driving by really slowly. She turned and made a u turn and drove back by slowly. well, I went in the house because it was cold figuring since I told her it would be on the porch she would get out and get it. Well, it was about 10 minutes later and I see a woman walking between the 2 apt. buildings where I live looking around. So I run out and say Are you here for the omlette maker? She says, I don't know what the **** you are talking about. I apologize and go back in. She drives back by a few minutes later and out runs this kid and she's yelling hurry up before that lady comes back out. I have NO idea what her issue was.

Not only has this happened a few times in my groups, but twice it has been reported to me (I'm an owner/mod), where Person A has given away items to Person B. Person A then lists MORE stuff to give away, promises it to Persons C, D and E and Person B shows up because they know where Person A lives, and takes things not promised to them. The nerve! I've told all complaintants to report it to the police because it is most definitely theft.

    Re: People on Freecycle....AAARRRGGGHHH

oh I hate freecycle as well!!!! I was offering some of my babys stuff he had grown out of. I get reply, demanding everything I had extra because they need it! Then I didn't respond to her, so she emailed me and told me she was calling the cops because I harrassed her! MY GOSH!!!! I reported her, and she is banned. Sadly, I wasn't the first one she did it to.

I had a bath sling offered. I got an email from a couple saying they hated the one they bought, but they'd take mine anyway. WHY?

The joyus wonder of different types of people all on 1 website!

    Re: People on Freecycle....AAARRRGGGHHH

I give stuff away on freecycle all the time and had never asked for anything. My BIL was wanting a boardgame that was no longer being made and we could only find it on ebay for a heck of a lot more than it was worth. I asked if anyone had one to give away and got 4 people who sent me ebay links! I don't ask for anything because the things we "need" are too much to ask a stranger to gimme. I can't believe how many post there are for people wanting free cars, computers, tvs & other big ticket items. I have even seen a home asked for. Some nerve!

    Re: People on Freecycle....AAARRRGGGHHH

I once and only once listed on freecycle
    I had listed
two pixters in like new condition and about 20 games
the fisher price book thing you know the one that is like leap pad and about 15 books
and a bunch of other misc toys
I had like 30 emails instantly
of course I offered it to the first one, then she replies to me that I need to bring it to her. I was like no way. I ended up donating it to the battered womens shelter. and stated so on our freecycle. due to the nasty responses and demands I had recieved. The owner agreed with me.
