Unbelievable!-Ebay buyer wants refund but will not return the book!
OMG!
1st this lady doesnt respond til 5 days after the auction ends. Then states she wants lower shipping rate/media mail. Its already going media & total w/shipping she is paying $5.49 & the book is 2lbs. Then says she doesnt have paypal when my auctions clearly states Paypal only. So i tell her its already media mail & paypal only. Next I get paypal from her the next day when she said she didnt have a paypal account.
I ship the same day,she got it 3/20. Today(3/28) she emails-
Book is not as described & its water damaged. You are dishonest & did not describe as it is. I want a full refund or else I will take it up w/Ebay & leave negative feedback.
I wrote back that the book was in used & great condition w/no water damage when it left here & why wait 8 days after receiving it to email me.
I said that in order to do a refund I will need her to return the book & that she pays shipping back which is what Paypal requires.
She had a fit & says this is not great customer service & that I was dishonest & its rediculous to ask her to pay to return it. Again she says neg feedback will be left if I dont refund immediately & that my great feedback will be ruined.
I have wonderful feedback from selling & never a prob like this. She is crazy!
We go back & forth for about 5 emails. I finally offer to pay her the price she paid for the book & not the shipping price it cost to mail it to her & in exchange she leaves positive for me. Im letting her keep the book & get partial refund & she says no. Full payment or nothing because I need to be taught that you cannot be dishonest in this world.
I tell her not to call me dishonest cause that book was in great shape w/no water damage. I said she was the one who was dishonest when she stated she didnt have paypal & then sends it the next day which is impossible if you dont already have paypal set up.
Im done! Let this crazy person leave me a neg. I will just let sellers know in the follow up what happened.
Yes i already left a positive for her after she paid but i can also do a follow up & I let her know that when she negs me that I can leave a follow up & will.

if you didn't leave positive feedback for her yet, this whole charade would not be going on. she is using feedback as bribery because she is dishonest and has nothing to lose because you already left her positive feedback. i think it should be recommended by ebay for sellers not to leave first feedback, it would sure reduce the number of complaints to them and paypal. i'm sorry your going through this. i have run into a few manipulative buyers on ebay but not near the number i would have if i left sellers first feedback.

I see your point on this, HOWEVER, it really makes me angry when a seller never leaves me feedback. I think feedback on my payment has nothing to do with the feedback I leave the seller. Sometimes I feel like not leavig feedback until they leave me feedback. I always pay immediately, so I feel that I should get feedback that reflects that. I feel like when the seller with holds feedback they are trying to manipulate the buyer for good feedback.
Anywho pepsi I hope you get this resolved. Sucks when trades go bad, if she wants a refund then she should return it.

That sucks I hate when they let the feedback thing dangle over your head, its ridiculous. What's the point of feedback when people can use it to blackmail you? Can you give us her username as a heads up so we don't have any transactions with her?

A quick payment does not mean that you automatically get positive feedback. Feedback is for the overall transaction ie customer service, payment, condition of item, shipping times, etc. If someone becomes a problem buyer, then the other sellers out there needs to know it, regardless if they pay right away or not. I always wait until feedback is left for me that way I know the transaction is 100% complete and both parties are happy with the item.
Pepsi, I wouldnt give that person anything, let Paypal deal with it. Some people are not happy regardless of what you do. I've bent over backwards to try to make buyers happy and still get neg.

Shes new on Ebay & I tried several times to explain that she needs to return the book then I would give a full refund but, she threatened neg feedback several times if i didnt refund full amount. She didnt feel she had to pay to ship it back.
I even offered partial refund & she keeps the book. But she said no!
She gave a neg & I responded honestly w/out name calling. I said-
Emails 8 days after received & says damaged. I offered full refund but she didnt want to send the book back.
Then I let Ebay know that she threatened neg feedback unless I gave full refund & that she didnt want to return the book. I explained that I tried to work it out but she just threatened me w/the Neg feedback. I told them I felt she was extorting a refund by threatening neg feedback & sent them emails she sent me.

i've been trying to say this to people forever but some just don't get it. just because you pay on time don't mean transaction is complete. the buyer could always claim item wasn't received (for those of you don't get delivery confirmation, you can hang it up) or that the item was not as described, or they can see that you paid 6.50 for shipping but the amount actually charged by post office was 5.95 and they go ballistic, or numerous other nonsense. they can keep pulling crap because no one is giving them negative feedback. what would motivate a seller with atleast 99% (i personally don't buy from anyone with less) to leave negative feedback for the buyer after they paid promptly and left positive feedback to the buyer. what i'm trying to say is that the buyer is more likely to try and pull a stunt if they already have positive feedback, sellers with great feedback have no motivation to cause trouble unless no payment, no contact, or not following sellers payment instructions.

Sorry, but imo, the transaction is the FULL thing...up to when it is recieved. If the buyer says they never recieved it and I have dc proof that it was, why should I have already left feedback if you are trying to get something out of it? I learned my lesson early on. I wait until the DC shows it has been delivered to leave any feedback. I had one lady spill a cup of coffee on a pair of pants and want me to pay for the cleaning! Unbelieveable!

Its the point that she was trying to threaten me!
She was telling me that she didnt have to pay to return the book to me. Saying I was a lying & dishonest seller. That is not true & she was l & lying about the condition.
I tried to work it out w/her & it doesnt matter where I got it from.
