Re: Baby name game NOT!!!!!!
It seems to be tradition that the children get the mans last name, but I say do what makes you happy. It isn't hurting anyone and your MIL will get over it .. if not, oh well, they are your children. All it should matter to is you and your hubby.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.
~When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure~

Re: Baby name game NOT!!!!!!
I told MIL that her biggest concern shouldn't be what last name I use and what last name the kids would get. We've been married for almost 7 years, and she's still not over it. In the end, it's our choice just as it's her choice to be a part of her grandkids lives.

Re: Baby name game NOT!!!!!!
That is a strange name they picked for the baby ... but each their own right?! I am sure there are people outside of Hollywood that do much worse .. we just don't know about it
I thought Apple was the weirdest thing when I hear it ... what are they going to name their next baby? Banana? Orange? Perhaps pineapple? LOL

[Mel B. names baby daughter after Murphy
Tue Apr 24, 10:54 AM ET
NEW YORK - Melanie Brown has given her baby daughter the surname of ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy, the former Spice Girl said in a statement Tuesday.
Brown, 31, gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3 in Santa Monica, Calif. She listed Murphy's name on the birth certificate.
She said the name was inspired by a number of things. "Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy. Iris, as it's my grandma's name, Murphy because he's the dad, and Brown, because I'm the Mum!" the statement said.
Murphy, 46, has said he's not sure he's the father.
Brown, known as Scary Spice when she was in the megahit group of the '90s, has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi.
Murphy, whose screen credits include "Dreamgirls," has five children from his marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy.

Considering she called herself "Scary Spice", Angel isn't half bad ... but that poor older child

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a baby...
Wed Aug 8, 9:23 AM ET
WELLINGTON (Reuters) - A New Zealand couple is looking to call their newborn son Superman -- but only because their chosen name of 4Real has been rejected by the government registry.
Pat and Sheena Wheaton say they will get around the decision by the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages by officially naming their son Superman but referring to him as 4Real, the New Zealand Herald newspaper has reported.
The Wheatons decided on the name after seeing the baby for the first time in an ultrasound scan and realizing their baby was "for real."
They decided 4Real was the best way to write it, but the name was rejected because the registrar said a name had to be a sequence of characters.
Pat Wheaton said he was considering appealing against the decision through the courts, but whatever happens he won't be budged on his choice.
"No matter what its going to stay 4Real," Wheaton told the Herald, "I'm certainly not a quitter."
A spokesman for the Department of Internal Affairs, which operates the registry told the Herald discussions with the Wheatons about their son's name were continuing.
The baby is now two months old, after the Wheatons first applied to register his name in later June.

I hate my name, my dad named me after some slut bar maid in a Looking Glass song, just changed the way it was spelled. Common name but didn't make me hate it any less, especially when everyone would start singing that damn song.
