    Tuition hikes.

I swear sometimes I think I'd be better off just getting knocked up and letting the state pay for my college education.

I hear ya, dear. I've often thought the same about school, buying a house and groceries, etc. lol But, if you can do it all on your own, without help, you'll be really proud of yourself and always able to weather the bad times.

I agree, I've thought about it too, but for all the crap we go through to go to and pay for college, the hardworking students will come out on top. Now keep repeating that to yourself before you kill someone. Hey if you kill someone the state will pay for your school too! J/K

I completley understand. I remember when my friend was pregnant and found out that she could have her schooling paid for b/c she was having a baby... nice to know they care about us all. Think positive though. When you are done, you'll hopefully have a great job w/ good pay and something that makes you happy.

I agree with all this advice. You will have a good life and be proud of yourself and we will be proud of you too when you do it on your own. Hang in there, I'm sure you are doing a good job.

The only way to get around it is to apply for as many scholarships as you can. Transfer to a small private school and see how much of a scholarship you can get after your freshman and sophmore years if you have good grades. Don't depend on the state tuition reimbursement or Pell Grants.

There are scholarships out there that require only that you fill out the paperwork. Some require an essay but the money is there. You would be surprised at how much of your tuition and books can be covered by scholarships and not all of them are limited to books and tuition. Sometimes it's just money that you can have to live on.

Don't give up but do go digging.

I totally understand your frustration. But hold your ground and don't do that. You will have done it yourself. You will know you were responsible. That is something to be proud of.

Great ideas, schsa. The only thing I would add to, in search of money to go to school, contact your local representative. There are programs out there for grants that anyone can get and don't have to pay back.

I wish you luck. I have a daughter your age in school, and I understand how rough it is.

LOL. I doubt it. Double standards and the like.

I wouldn't actually get pregnant just to recieve money for college. I wouldn't get pregnant without having the money to support the child.

Just drives me nuts that there are so many of us that have to pay for our college (parents make too much for government help) but if a girl gets knocked up, she qualifies for assistance and many other things. I understand that it's hard to be a young single mother, but by golly no one made you open your legs.

At the rate it's going, it'll be back to where only the wealthy can afford to go to college. And everyone else will be scrubbing their toilets.

Just have to remind myself that it's worth it.
