    Re: Do not trust Blockbuster

I've been using Netflix for over a year now and I highly recommend them. I've received a few scratched or damaged disks but I have never had a problem getting it resolved with Netflix, and they've never tried to blame me for any problems. You can go online and report it before you even mail it back and they will go ahead and send a replacement to you immediately.

I tried Blockbuster Online for a short period, and I felt the service wasn't as good as Netflix. The selection was not as good (I like to watch alot of the stuff that came on PBS's Mystery or Masterpiece Theater and other things besides new release/mainstream movies) and the turnaround time was slower for Blockbuster as well. Netflix usually gets a movie to me by the next day and they also receive my returns by the next day - they have quite a few processing centers around the US. Also, I have only had maybe 2 movies in my list say that there was a wait on them in the past year with Netflix, but had several delays on titles in the few weeks I was with Blockbuster.

I am so glad I came across this post before I decided to use Blockbuster.com. I was going to try them because they are a little cheaper and plus they give you 2 in-store free rental coupons a month that my kids could use to rent games. But after listening to all of you I think I'll go back to Netflix. I never had a problem with them.

    Thanks everyone!

    Re: Do not trust Blockbuster

You know, all of you that have gotten screwed by Blockbuster need to go to Planetfeedback.com.. and file a complaint.. that is the fastest way to get a response, they help contact Blockbuster, and let them know of your complaints...the complaints can also be sent to ppl like your state representative and so on.
I know this due to I had to complain to a few companies on bad products... I at least got results from 1 of them companies, and I know Planetfeedback had a big hand in getting that companies attention.

    Good luck everyone..

I also wasnt satsified with Blockbuster Online. Called my CC company & they did chargebacks & called the company for me. Told Blockbuster not to bill my CC any further.

If you signed up thru a CC you might call them & file a dispute.

    Re: Do not trust Blockbuster

I had to respond here about Blockbuster here in NJ. I don't rent online from them but there is a lawsuit going on about their advertising. They have a new advertising gimmick saying "the end of late fees" making people believe they will not have to pay a late fee for movies...when in fact.....they do charge fees calling them restocking fees and extended viewing fees and if you keep the movie for longer that a month they charge your cc for the cost of the movie.

    Here is a link--

All seems deceptive to me. I would stay away from this company. I am lucky to live near a county library that has an extensive movie and cd collection. It is free to rent and can keep for a week. After one week, the fee is $1.00 a day. I just reserve online and they call when my order is ready. Sometimes I do have to wait for a new release but that is the only drawback.
