    Would you do this?

Well, after all these years I have finally decided to get help with the housework. I am again off my feet with my foot propped up and also at this time waiting to schedule rotator cuff surgery. I don't know how the rotator cuff mess could have happened unless from rolling the wheelchair myself.
Anyway now that I have someone coming tomorrow I want to clean up the house. Why do we feel this way, like we don't want anyone to see the mess?
Especially when it is for someone coming tomorrow to clean? I don't think I am unusual in this because I have heard other people are this way too. I am so happy to be able to have this help but at the same time I think it is going to be uncomfortable just sitting while someone else is doing my work. I also hope she doesn't need any help about what to do. I don't like telling people what to do (except my husband, I am good at that, LOL) Tell me this woman is going to understand when she comes and sees our mess and sees me just sitting looking fat and lazy. Thanks.

LOL - come on girl! Do you REALLY think the maid is going to look at you in your chair and think you are just fat and lazy! She is getting PAID to clean! As for telling her what to do, it is all in the way you say it - I know you will do ok.

i think a lot of people feel that way. i think they try to clean up most of the stuff and just leave the scrubbing for the cleaning people.

I would be the same way - wanting to clean for the maid. We are something, huh?

I have had a regular cleaning crew for over 10 years and I still pick up before they come. Most people would not consider my house dirty...but I see it. I no longer 'clean' before the crew comes as that's what I'm paying them to do. But, I definitely pick up the any stuff laying around. I don't want to waste their time with little things and would rather they spent their time doing the deep cleaning.

I don't think you are weird at all.
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.

    Re: Would you do this?

I have a cleaning service once a week. I had to tell them what I wanted them to do the first time they came. I just took them on a tour of the house and they asked me if I wanted certain things done or not. It made it easier for future visits because everyone knew what was expected.

At first I would want to clean before they got here. Now I just make sure the kids have their toys picked up.

I actually clean for people. Well that and help them with personal care. I go to older peoples house and do the things that they cannot. Mostly laundry and regular housekeeping. Honestly I would not feel bad if you didnt clean before I came.
Thats what your paying me for!!!!!

    Re: Would you do this?

I use to have a lady that came once a week. I would clean before she got there, then helped her clean while she was at my house...stupid stupid me..lol...but it made the cleaning go along faster and was rather enjoyable. To do it over again, I too would have a walk through the first time, telling them what I expect, then I would go about my business while they clean. (then offer them lunch..hehe.)

    Re: Would you do this?

You know I thank you for posting on this subject because it just brought back a wonderful memory of my grandma jo, she got to a point that she could no longer do housework anymore so she hired a PT cleaning lady, my GM would go around cleaning whatever she could do so that no one would think that she was a slob, she was just fastigious like that! Dont be ashamed to ask for help when you need it, I am sure in your lifetime you have helped others, now it is your turn to chill out for a while and enjoy being pamped, remember YOU deserve it
Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching
