Thread: Freecycle vent...OT emails

Anyone elses freecycle group like this?

I get individual emails from my freecycle group. A lot of them are "Praise for XX" type emails, just thanking someone for whatever they gave them, instead of emailing the person, they send it to the whole group, usually 4-5+ of these a day. It's just annoying to me, it's even in the rules "responses only to offerer" to cut down on volume of emails. At least the praised ones don't reply with "thank you for the praise" emails though

I'm lucky, my Freecycle only sends out one email a day unless there is a large amount of post, but I have never received more than two since I started. I'd hate all that filling up my inbox. Maybe you ought to send an email to your moderator and ask if they couldn't do something like that.

Yes I get way too much free cycle mail. I even considered cancelling out because of that but now I just look at the subject heading and delete it.

i get these. obviously they are allowed if the admin approves the message and lets it get though. it really doesn't bother me because i just delete them anyway.

Yes you can change it to no emails at all!

I don't want to change it to digest, because most of the stuff that gets posted for giveway is taken within minutes of it being posted, so if I did digest I wouldn't receive any of the emails in time to even consider anything, then I would be better off unsubscribing. Thanks for the replies everyone
