Is it because the season is changing??

Because that's what everybody is telling me. But I'm going nuts!!! Nowee just cries over EVERYTHING!! For example, this morning: He wouldn't get up, so I pulled his covers off (I'm going to wash them anyway). He cries because he wanted to pull them off. He cries because he can't find any pants (he's got a drawer full). He cries because he doesn't like his socks, he cries because he thinks there's not enough milk in his cereal. On the way to the bus (which they almost miss), he cries because of his shoe.

Then because of his attitude, he just mosy's to the waiting bus. I'm telling him to run, but he won't. I've got a toddler trailing behind me, so I can't grab him and run. He held the whole bus up because he wanted to be so slow. THe driver should have just taken off without him. I told him that maybe he isn't ready for kindergarten and he should wait until next year, but then guess what he did...HE CRIED!!! He's actually doing very well, and I'm sure they will put him in an accelerated class in first grade just like his brother.

Both boys are on restriction today for making dad wait 45 minutes to read to them while they "cleaned" their room last night. The punishment is actually for being in there 45 minutes, and not getting 1 thing done. It has NEVER been ok for them to have a messy room. It has NEVER been ok to leave clothes on the floor or dresser (unless they are what is laid out for the next day). I got peeved Saturday because I made one of their chores to clean out their dresser. They have all kinds of stuff that doesn't belong and clothes are just stuffed in so they can't close the drawers. They wouldn't do it. DH came home and made them do it, and because I was so peeved, he kicked me out to the gym. He knew what I wanted them to do. They knew what I wanted them to do. But this morning, I find nothing had been done.Turns out, he just made them put the clean clothes away and stuff them in so tight they could close the drawers. So, in frustration and anger, I dumped all their drawers. They will have to fix it when they get home. Maybe they're too young, but they don't realize how nice it is to have a dresser. They are the only ones in this house that do.

I'm just tired , and I told them, of working my butt off to fix these things for them only for them to trash it later that day. And I told them that by doing that they were just being mean to me. I don't have to, but I help them out. Who always finds the lost shoes in the toy box when you're crying because you can't find them (and you already "looked" there, but it wasn't on top and you won't look underneath anything)? Who closes your bedroom door while you're at school so your sister doesn't go in and trash it? Who throws a load of laundry in the washer late at night just so you can have clean socks the next day (and where are they all disappearing to anyway??)?

So now I feel bad, and I'm debating whether or not to go put all the clothes back. But if I do it, they won't learn, and they will once again have gotten away with not doing something I told them to do (2 days ago!! thank you DH ).

I'm tired of working so hard for nothing, and I'm tired of all the crying. It's rubbed off on Lena. Now she is whining and crying all day too. She throws her dinner all over the floor, then whines all night because she's hungry.

I sooooo need a vacation, or at least some recognition, appreciation, and support from certain 4 persons. I know, how much can you get from a 21 month old, but the other 3 know better.

Can you tell it's Monday? Thanks for letting me rant.

((AMI)) Kids, you know you have to love them. Someday those boys will make you proud. You have to try to laugh at these things. Sometimes you will find yourself very upset if you take it all so seriously. I tend to get annoyed with my son because I will want him to do something simple like take a bath and he will get stupid and run around. Sometimes I want to say STOP IT. JUST DO WHAT I WANT. But he is grinning and laughing and acting dopey and I have to say, kids only get to be kids for a short time....

    Hang in there "MOM!"

Re: Is it because the season is changing??

Yesterday was not a good day. I started thinking of a song (I can't remember what is was now) about kids growing up, and I got all emotional because although it doesn't seem like it at times, I know it's right around the corner. And I felt like a bad mom, so it was all piling up.

Then I go get Nowee from the bus stop, and the driver was giving the kids posters as they got off. Nowee runs up to me smiling, and we head for home. But then I hear the driver calling my son, so I send him back to the bus, and a few seconds later, he emerges empty handed and crying. I teid to get him to tell me what was wrong, but he just walked past and before I could turn around, the driver had taken off. Poor kid walked all the way home with his head hanging so low. By the time we got home, I was crying. I found out that he had his poster taken away for standing on the bus. If that was the case, he shouldn't have got one one at all. It was the driver's mistake for handing it to him in the first place, you can't just take things back like that!! So I call DH bawling. It was just so stupid, but I was having a bad day. Nowee understood better than I did about what happened, but I was just a wreck. And then for the driver to take off like that - he ran like a chicken!!

DH is so wonderful. We were all going to the gym last night, but he flet that letting the boys play at childcare wouldn't send a good message when they were on restriction. So he stayed home and let me go. I just sat in the hot tub for a while and then did a few laps in the pool. When I got home, all the dishes had been done, and my dinner was still warm on the stove. The house was clean. And he's just so wonderful (I'm crying again)!! He's home today (he's going to the gym for a few hours, but will be home before Nowee gets home from school.) What's that noise? I hear the washing machine going, and I didn't start it! Isn't he awesome?
