just unsure of some things goin on in here lately.... kinda upsets me to see this board going in the direction it has been

I totally agree. I havent been here near as long as some of them, but I remember having fun on here at one point and being able to joke around. People wouldnt get offended as easily it seems. But thats just my measley opinion. For what its worth :-(

OK.....I have been around for a while. I half agree with you on two points. For one, this board is NOT like it used to be. But that isn't all a bad thing. I feel that it used to be run by a select few.....shall we say, "veterans", who, anytime there was anything posted contrary to their beliefs/opinions, would jump all over and pounce the opposing view. I personally used to feel that I could not post/express some of the things that I wanted to say.

Secondly, I do agree that now it has gotten out of hand. I think I know of one person in particular that I can think of whose posts are very negative and rude MOST of the time. It is very annoying. And you just want to reach through your computer screen and scream "WTF R U thinking???!!!"

I do think that people have got to learn and respect the fact that we can all have differences of opinions and different values in life that affects our thoughts/ideas/opinions. That has been the one thing that this board has taught me the most.

It boils down to this: I don't have to AGREE with you, but I do have to RESPECT your thoughts/ideas/opinions. I think that is what everyone who uses this board should learn and understand!

I haven't been around lately, but I've seen this happen before. If you get more upset here than you'd like to you could take a break from it. I've taken two breaks since I've joined and it always helped. People leave also, so when you come back you will see a lot of new names.

What direction is it going in that you see? I'm still relatively new, so I don't know. do you argee with the previous posts, about attacks or is it something different?

One good thing I have noticed.....some of the more crude and vulgar people don't seem to be posting.

What I can't stand are the ones who never have anything nice to say about anyone. It is all well and good to come on the board and look for advice or vent and whine, but there are some people who NEVER have anything nice to reply.

For example, does it really take too long to stop and say "Happy Birthday" in that thread when it is someone's birthday? Or "good job" if they post something good going on in their lives?

I believe in everyone having his or her own opinion. I don't need to agree with you to be your friend or be polite. Sometimes you need to see the other person's point of view.

I hope all the decent folks will keep on posting here. Let's not get boring. We CAN disagree, but you don't need to stoop to name calling or cursing.

ITA Our difference in opinion is what makes this sight so good. I don't generally have conversations about world events outside of this chat room. I never resort to name calling, there is no need. I learn from all the difference in opinion, and hope someone learns something from me. I tend to only comment on controversial items, or ones where I feel I have some experience in the subject matter.
