I guess I just don't understand why people make such a big issue out of linking to a credit card or bank account. JMO. Paypal must have some way of verifying identity.
ONE of the issues is identify theft. I was ripped off for $1000.00 through PayPal. Verify or not... I don't think it matters.

    Re: ahhh paypal

I have paypal and I am not verified. I cannot be because I have Netbank. They will not do verification. I can still withdraw the money and put it into my bank account. I just purchased something from a music site with paypal last week. It went through with no problem. I think maybe some places only accept payment from those who are verified. I do have problems with one of my point sites. They send paypal and the email says that I must be verified to accept payment. I just select that I deny payment. I email the point site and they are good enough to punch in the payment manually. Not all the point sites will do this. I really hope you guys are able to get your money. That just isn't right.

I have a checking account with a debit card that i use only for paypal , that way if anything would ever happen , i wouldn't loose much.
I have never had a problem with paypal . Before i put on my debit card (as a credit card) it said i wasn't verified but i could always send money.
I don't understand why they are doing this to you. Wish i could help.

Sounds almost like a scam to me...beings paypal is proud to advertise send money to anyone with an email address...sure you can send it to them but they aren't allowed to actually have it. I would bombard paypal if I were you Wendy everyday two and three times a day until they gave me my money. Also go to planet feedback. Don't give up until you get your money, with this new lawsuit they might give into you a bit better. I wish you luck.

DD has over $100 in her paypal account that she can't touch. You used to be able to link a webcertificate Mastercard to your account, then transfer the money to the webcertificate. For whatever reason it won't let you do that anymore.

My bank offers a free checking account. I opened a separate one for this purpose only.

Even my daughter was able to get a $5 minimum balance one because she is a student.

Thats what I was thinking about doing. I mean its only $5 thats in my account but I pass up a lot of surveys that pay through paypal because I'm not verified. It won't even let me send my $5 to someone else without being verified. I was going to send it to one of my friends from BBS but it said I wasn't verified and I can't request a check either for the same reasons.

I wonder if the prepaid credit cards would work? Has anyone done this? I think you can purchase the prepaid ones at Rite-Aid.

I'm not sure if a pre-paid credit card would work.

Even though I verified with my bank account, and I can send and received money, they still ask a credit card to verified my address? I thought a bank account was enough, but apprently not. Though I can request a direct deposit or simply a check to the address on profile. But I am guessing they want a CC for eBay. A pre-caid CC I don't think would work as a way to get your account verified.

    On the site it says:
A Confirmed Address is any address at which you receive your credit card statement. If you receive a credit card bill at this address, you can confirm it by entering your credit card information below. This information will only be used to confirm your address. Your card will not be charged.

Yeah, I guess it wouldn't work since they can't verify my address or anything with it. Ugh. So I guess my $5 is going to be paypals $5. lol
