I think it was more then Urine from what I read...and I know if I was covered in POOP...I would want someone to do something and pay for it. Sorry but there are so many diseases that these people could come down with, Hepititis (SP) being one of them.

I would want them to pay for it too... IN the civil suit... I wouldn't demand jail time tho... he'd have to get out and go outside the bus to dump it on purpose... there was a camera so it would have been seen... it obviously was NOT on purpose but could very well be a case of not putting it back together properly... in which case, the ppl who got drenched should be compensated... w/out a doubt.

DMB may or may not have known about it really... i am sure the people they have working for them dont always tell them everything lol... which they may have known...i think it's funny, but if i was one of those people, it wouldn't be. yuck!

And even if this kind of stuff DOES happen all the time, that doesn't mean that the driver of the bus MEANT to do it this time... they had a camera there (they said this is how they identified the bus), so it wouldn't be hard to find out if it was on purpose since you have to be outside the bus to dump it.

At any rate... I didn't say they shouldn't pay in CIVIL COURT... but I see no point in jail time since I do not believe this was intentional... even if it is intentional some of the time it doesn't mean it's intentional all of the time and I don't think the DMB would approve at all.

Unique situation... so I guess according to the Illinois AG my statement isn't that false afterall.

No...I meant to say boat....on tour boats...there are bathrooms...it is illegal for a boat to pump it's bildge as well as human waste off the side of the boat....it is illegal for bus drivers to do it as well...on city streets....there are many newer buses that are equipt with a "poop switch"....what drivers call it. The switch is located on the inside of the bus. It COULD have been an accident, but I really doubt it. You don't have to be outside of the bus in all cases...just find it funny that it conveniently "accidentally" opened over a body of water....Hm....dave matthews or not....it happens all the time with busses!

The "unique" part has to do with the timing....the fact that a boat load of 120 passengers and a bus overhead is totally straight out of a 6th grade math book problem ...."A boat travelling at 1000 knotts is going north west on a river at 1:08 PM....a bus traveling at 55 MPH is going Eastbound over a bridge....a bus "ALLEGEDLY" drops waste from it...." What are the odds....Pretty "unique" situation.
And, I forgot to answer the question...they face fines because it pollutes the water system that the city relies on for a drinking source....gross huh? I have seen busses pull alongside the road by a sewer and unload...you don't have to manually do anything. It is all done from inside the truck.

Just so you know, I am not out to get the DMB...infact, they are one of my favorites. I just honestly think that mistake or not, the driver/owner needs to be held accountable for their actions.

ITA and if it was intentional then most definatly jail time is proper, thats in dangerment in my opinion. If it happened to me I would be mad as heck, but if my kids were with me I would have been furious!!! Members of the band if they knew it happened then they should be held responsible also, tho I kinda doubt they would know that stuff. Seems to me the bus driver was just to lazy to do his job properly. And it wouldn't matter to me if it was DMB, George Jones, Eminem, would matter to me, poop is poop regardless of the tunes the band plays.
