Red face ATTEMPTED to cut 22 month old DD's bangs

My DD will not let me get near her with a pair of scissors. Her hair was in her eyes almost to her nose. It keeps getting into her eyes. Well, I had her dad hold her and she throws a fit. Here I am trying not to poke her big blue eyes out hehe. I got it out of her eyes, but with all the squriming it is TOTALLY uneven. I was going to take her to get it cut, but I know if she doesnt let me do it, she wont let a stranger do it. She is very shy around strangers. I dont know what the heck I am going to do. She has baby fine thin har that is curly. (gets that from mommy) So every uneven piece shows. Anyone have any advice?

Umm... it'll grow out . Sorry, that's all the advice I have. I remember when I was younger my grandma tried to trim my bangs and cut part of my eyebrows off!

I used to try to trim DD's bangs, she always seems to mover her head and they always ended up wonky.
Denise, I think everyone's second grade pics are horrid, I know mine were and DD says the same thing about hers. There's just something about those gap-toothed grins.

LOL! BTDT! At least YOU cut it!

Twice I have had 2 giggling girls run to the bathroom to see the new "doo" her sister gave her.... OMG! LOL It does grow back!

Last year a WEEK before school, my 8 y/o cut my 6 y/o's hair... her LONG beautiful hair! she cut one side within an inch of the scalp! When I saw it, I was on the phone with DH and I screamed so loud he thought I was being murdered... then I cried for 2 days LOL

I let DH do the cutting or I take them to a beauty shop. My hands aren't "calm" enough to even attempt to try lol

I don't know where you live, but we have places around here that cater to young children. My 8 y/o is disabled and used to be VERY afraid of strangers, but I was at my wits end with her hair and took her to one of the kid places and they were wonderful with her and she was perfectly still.
Don't make me get out my flying monkeys.

She let her grandma do it once, but she live 7 hours away In Branson, MO. I think she is in Wyoming for a bowling tourney now. So that is out of the Question I dont think there is a place around here that does kids hair. I will have to find out for the next time.

I did the same thing!! Dawson (2 year old with long curly hair) would not sit still, so she ended up with the uneven bangs lol. Now I just use cute hair clips to get it out of her eyes.

Sorry I have no advice for you.
