Ok, the man I date is 11 years younger than I am. We met when he was 19 and I was 30. We have been seeing each other for 15 years. He was young and immature when we met but he has grown up to be a great adult.

Sometimes it works out and sometimes at 18 a guy just enjoys the sex and having someone look after him. If she dates him long enough and doesn't marry him, she will find out soon enough.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

GOOD LUCK TO THEM. AS LONG AS HIS FAMILY IS NOT HOLLERING ABOUT IT. EVERYBODY ELSE NEED TO BACK UP AND SHUT UP. AT THE JOB I MEAN. THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER IS RUNNING AROUND THE JOB.

I agree, but don't think it matters what if his family is upset or hollering about it matters either..he is 18..Now if he was under 18, I think that would be wrong. I had a few friends whose parents decided/thought that it was just fine to tell their kids who were 18/19 who they could or couldn't date (even after they had moved out and were living on their own). I think once someone is out of their parents house, and they are payign their own way/full tiem job/paying bills/being responsible, what their parents think about it really just doesn't matter.

The state is Kentucky, and as far as I know the age of consent is still 16.

Really Im glad for her thats she's happy. You know how hard it is nowadays to find a guy that responsible when your divorce with kids ?? dang near impossible, cause most don't want to be tied down.

As far as his family goes, it's been a strained relationship since he was 14 and got bounced from realative to relative. His family looks like a mess, he dosen't have any sibiling that he shares the exact same DNA with. I think he was in job corps before they met, got a trade in landscaping, and she's metioned that one day he wants to open up his own lawn care business.

He treats her child like it his own, which I think is fantastic

Her family I don't think really has any say in it no how. With her being the age she is, a parent, no drug, no drinking, no problems, has her own place ect, they can't exactly butt in now and say "hey I don't like who your dating" it don't work that way.

I think everybody is right, people just need to butt out of it. It's their life, they can live it as they see fit, and in the immortal words of george carlin, "as long as you don't get any of it on my leg, I don't care !"
    BLAH ~
