    WWYD dropping paypal complaint

    First can I just say GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...this is kinda long.....

    I filed two complaints to paypal for a trade I had here on BBS and never received my items. This was on the 11th of November. Haven been waiting for seller to refund or whatever since then.

    She states that paypal has a "Hold" on her accounts and she emailed them, but they never responded therefore she can't do a refund.

    I said umm well maybe you could send a money order and mail it to me with d/c. But since I didn't pay that way she wasn't going to refund that way either. Okay fine...days have gone by now.

    Today..she emails me and asks if I would take a 1/2 refund for the first trade (because I didnt have it sent with a delivery confirmation but she said she mailed it) and a full refund for the second trade. SHe would send the money to me "first thing" and I can cancel my complaints with paypal.

    Wanting to end this nightmare of a trade, I'm willing to suck up $15 and accept a 1/2 refund on the first trade (total over $30), but I want her to mail my full refund first (which is $63.75) as a good faith effort before I cancel anything or agree to the 1/2 refund. She's like uh NO I will send you the $15** first then you cancel everything.

    Am I being unreasonable here???? Why on earth would I accept $15, cancel my complaints with paypal and HOPE to get back an additional $63. She must be crazy! Now wouldn't you think that if she were really trying to make a good faith effort to clear this up she would send the larger refund first?

    If anyone has had to file a complaint with paypal and was able to receive their money back, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone has had to notify authorities in a the Virignia area to retrieve funds what steps would I need to take.

    **Update basically she has told me IF I agree to HER terms then we can come to an agreement. **

    **Update 2 the seller felt that I wasn't truthful in this thread because I did not specifically state that these were two different transactions that I was seeking a refund for so I'm just letting people know that. Also I received a full refund for the two gift certifcates I purchased and were never mailed in the amount of $63.75. I agreed and received a 50% refund for the first giftcertificate that she said she mailed but I never received. I felt it was better to receive back 3/4 of the money and be done with this than not to receive anything. Thank you everyone who responded.**

    I agree with FBH. You are the wronged party here. Plus...you have everything to lose and nothing to gain from dropping the complaint. She has everything to gain.

    I also would NOT cancel anything. Once a paypal claim is cancelled, you can not file another one for that transaction. Sounds pretty sneaky to me.

    Don't do it!!! That's all I'm going to say. Unfortunately there are too many scam artists on this board. It's getting bad and it will only get worse the closer it gets to Christmas. I said more than I was going to. lol

    I agree, don't do it. Sounds like you will get burned again if you do. Plus how do you even know she sent the first one if she is admitting she didn't send the second? Something definately not right with the picture here.

    I have left feedback under her name. She changed my feedback after I left her negative, but you can check out my feedback link the story behind that which is why I haven't addressed her by name here.

    I did want to add though, that a couple of people emailed me that were in trades with her as well and were having a hard time getting their stuff, but I see no one has left negative but me. So if you have also been done wrong by this person please let others know. Its important especially during this time of year that we all leave feedback so people at least have a more information with which to judge if they should trade or not. The holiday season is bring scammers out. I don't want anyone else to get burned.

    While I can't really afford to be out over $90, I'm better off than some. Anyone who knows any information about this person can PM or email as I have decided to file charges with every agency I can so one I get my money back and two she can't scam anyone else. I feel like I have been patient enough. Thanks goodness I went ahead and filed with paypal because the 30 days would be over this week.

    I hope everything works out....I'm really afraid to do business on the net, unless maybe if I was doing the selling. I've heard too many horrer stories of people getting ripped off!
