Take this job and shove it

Today we had a meeting at work to go over rules and what is expected of us, etc. We have a list of all the things that are supposed to be done everyday ad if there is anything extra that needs to be done, it is written on the list. I have posted before that I work in a convenience store. I have always done everything on the list plus a lot of times people who work the shift before me haven't completed their things that they are supposed to do so I end up doing them. For instance they are supposed to take the hot dogs off the grill around 9:00 and scrub the grill. Most of the time when I come in at 11:00, it wouldn't be done so I would do it. Every shift is responsible for emptying the garbage on their shift. Many times I have come in and the garbage was filled to the top. Several times the outside garbage was so full I could barely lift it. Anyway, we are at the meeting and my boss says that I never do anything on the list. I think my eyes probably nearly popped out of my head. I said I always do everything on the list and then some. He says no I don't. I told him there are 3 video cameras and if you watch the tape you can see me doing my work. He still insisted I don't do anything. So I said, I don't have to take this. I'm out of here. I told them they could all talk about me after I left. and I left. I have jeopardized my safety on more than one occassion just to keep this job. But no more. Why should I go out of my way to clean the store and make sure everything is perfect if it isn't appreciated. I got written up last week because we were out of soap for the women's bathroom. I told him very politely I couldn't put soap in the bathroom if there wasn't any. He said I should have done it anyway.

Yeah that really makes sense.

The thing that gets me is this girl started working there about 3 weeks ago and never once has she been on time. One day last week she was over an hour late. Does she get in trouble? Of course not. But I get written up for every stupid little thing. Whoever works Saturday night/Sunday morning has to put the Sunday papers together. The other Sunday the one paper didn't come until almost 6:00 in the morning. It was in 6 different sections and I had 87 of them to put together. This is besides waiting on customers and making sure there is a constant supply of fresh coffee. So obviously when 7:00 rolled around and it was time to go home, I didn't have all the papers put together. So the girl that relieved me told on me. And I got written up. I tried to explain to him what time the papers got there but he said that was no excuse. I'd like to see him put together that many papers plus wait on customers at the same time.

They'll end up being screwed in the long run. U did good getting out now. Let the boss see that he messed w/the wrong person. U go girl!

What a jerk. I wonder where he's getting his information from. It sounds to me like you were a great employee!

I know it doesn't help much, but it really IS his loss. Let him see how much you "didn't" do when nothing gets done anymore b/c no one else will do it.

I am surprised that you made it this long. I don't think that I would have been as tollerant as you have been. Let the rest of them deal with what you have done and now won't be done.
