    Latter Day Saints questions

I was outside today and these two guys came by from the Church of Latter Day Saints. They are going to come back Monday and talk..I am sure they want me to come to church and that is fine. I am curious by nature and very interested in most religions. I just don't know how my fiance will feel about them coming by-I haven't told him yet. He as more of an agnostic view than I do. I was raised in a Baptist church. I couldn't tell these guys "not interested" because I am interested. I just don't want these guys to become a hassle ( i feel so bad for saying that) such as them stopping by all the time..We haven't lived here a month yet and we like our privacy. Is anyone here a member of the Latter Day Saints or have any expierance with them? Thanks so much!

I have had some limited experience with Mormoms stopping at my door, they have always been very polite. If you tell them you are not interested, they will say ok. If you tell them you are of a different religion, they usually want to know about it. When I told them I was a Baha'i, they wanted to know if I had some literature. They said that if they came across another Baha'i they wanted to be able to be on the same page!
    I'm a Baha'i,ask me why.

This web site explains Mormons as well as most religions. I have been told they don't think of Jesus like other religions so that may be different if you have been taught Jesus is God. Ask them if they believe the same and what they do believe about Jesus.

Mormons believe in Jesus and believe that He is God, they also believe in the Godhead.

They believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost.

What would be the differences in their beliefs? Are there any differences? Does it explain why only Mormons are allowed in the Temples? I went to Salt Lake City as a child and we wondered about this.

I have cousins that are of Mormon faith. I don't know much of their beliefs(as we never discussed them) but I do know when we had get togethers, we had to make sure we had caffiene free drinks (they had said because of their religion, they didn't partake of caffiene) and that they refused to work on sunday. Other than that, I am clueless.

    morman questions

I joined the Church when I was 17.I am currently inactive though. The biggest difference is that Mormans believe that God and Jesus are two seperate beings..God the father, and Jesus Christ the son of God. Also Mormans are very profamily, and think this relationship is very imporant.God comes first then you marriage and then the family as a whole. We are taught to have a family night once a week, hold family prayer every morning and evening as well as at meals, and couples have prayer together in addition to the family prayer and individule prayers. These are the biggest difference I have found other than the book of Morman which is just another testament of Jesus Christ.

What about the "Heavenly Mother" that gives birth to our spirit/souls before we are sent to earth to live?

I had two mormans visit me that said they believe this but couldn't explain it very well.
