I just wonder why the docs say if your kid is healthy, they don't need immunizations. I thought that immunizations were to PREVENT illnesses, not to fix anything already contracted. My dot had an allergic reaction to the "p" in only her LAST DTP shot, so maybe it was just that batch. She got red splotches all over, but they didn't stay in one place, they kept moving, disappearing and coming back, but they never all went away. I took her right back to the hospital (her poor face looked terrible!) and she recovered fine.

I know Kelly Preston and John Travolta don't have their kids immunizized (I read it in a couple of different places) and they travel all over the world. I don't know how they do it.

Since we travel all over (military), I will keep dot immunizized.

Well, I know of many others that don't have theirs immunized. I believe in them. My kids never had a reaction to the immunizations. And after the bout with pertusis I wouldn't take the chance.

Here's to a healthy happy life for your little one.

That is what happened with my brother to.....his autisim was less severe though. (((((((((((ladybreaker))))))))))))))

AZ, I am not sure how you get around it. My friends parents did that with all 5 of her kids (no imunizations) but she homeschooled. All of her children were and still are extremely healthy.

you have every right to feel this way, they are your children you know what is best for them. the only thing i am worried about is when they get older and pehaps get lets say chicken pox. i my self was never vaccinated against it(vaccine came out after i had it THREE FRICKEN TIMES!) but as you get older the chicken pox is harder on you and major complications can arise from it. please think of all possible scenarios(sp??) before making your final decision on this!

anyone has the right not to accept these vaccines, but your child will more than likely not end up in public school, college, work in any health care field or restaraunt without them. someone mentioned chicken pox and shingles, wanting to get the vaccine because it is painful if you get it as an adult. well, try getting tetanus (look it up on the interent), it is NOT a pretty site and you will die. polio, ah yes, MIGHTy darn painful when you can't breathe.

the doctor who told you that if your children are healthy, then they don't necessarily need it? i would NOT ever be treated by him again because he is incompetent. you will have more problems being treated by him than allowing your children to become vaccinated.

homeschooling may be your only option.

the risks are minimal. every medication has risks, but the benefits outweight the risks, that is why it is a law.

It is legal to refuse immunizations. And it is illegal for a school to refuse your kids because of not having them for religious beliefs.

well-i will more than likely get some people a little mad at me,but..................HOW DARE YOU SAY MY CHILD IS AN "ISOLATED" CASE!!AND,THAT THERE IS NO LINK BETWEEN MMR OR OTHER VACCINES AND AUTISM!!yes, this is a touchy subject for me!!my child was a normal, happy 2 year old--then--BAM!she is now severly autistic and her doc. says it was the vaccines!!1 in 700 children in the world is now autistic,85% is from the vaccines that are forced on them as a baby!the FDA has known for over 10 years that the mercury was poisoning our kids and did nothing to stop it!!why??MONEY!! it is cheaper to use the mercury as a preservative than to make smaller doses.if it didn't hurt the kids, why do they not use it anymore???????????????????????????????????????????

Faithfully even said her child's condition is BELIEVED to be from immunizations. If it were not for immunizations the mortality rate for children would be through the roof. I am just not willing to take that kind of risk with my child's life. I would rather they have a fever and be cranky for a day or so than be crippled with polio or die from scarlet fever.
    I agree 100%!!!!!!!!

Same here. My son has Sensory Integration Disorder. He is not austistic, thank God, but we sure thought he was. I totally believe the mercury preservative in the MMR has done this. And I hope that if it is found out and documented, that these parents sue like there is no tomorrow.

Adults are not the only ones who get shingles, trust me I know, my daughter had went to pre school last year, she was 4, she had all her shots and she also already had the chicken pox when she was around 2 years old, well some child came to school with chicken pox, and for some reason where she already had them she got shingles, I even got her a second oppinion, and believe me it was so rough on her, especially her little face. I took her out of pre school and woud not even let her go back, of course that was a rough nearly 2 weeks, anyways, not to get off the subject or anything, but wanted to share, kids get shingles not just adults.
