unreal service
my car alarm when wacko yesterday. so we pulled the fuses out.
I went this morning 10am to the service dept at the dealer. He calls the company "Extreme" to repair it. The man comes at 10:20 smelling of beer. I wasn't sure so I took a step closer he took a step back, he was covered in beer, and staggered with me to the car. He looks and tries to fix it. Well he said he needs to replace the modular and will drive it to the shop. I asked him who will drive, he said "Me" and I said are you sure that is a good idea? He said fine I'll call another guy. I go inside they take my car. 2 hours later 12:29 I am pissed I finally found the service manager and asked if he spoke to the "extreme rep" he said yes, I asked did you smell his breath. He smerked and say yeah I know. And that he called "extreme owner" about it. Me I am thinking good he will take care of it. They brought my car back and this guy too smelled of beer. I tried to ignore it, put the kids in the car and told the manager I was leaving but can't believe this. And drove off home.
My husband left with my car to go to his bank and just came home and asked why there is a cigerette butt in my ash try. WTF??
So the dealership called back and swore that he took care of this with "Extreme" and it was not normal policy to allow workers to smoke or be intoxicated or under the influence of anything while working on a customers car.

Oh man, I'm glad you didn't let him drive your car. If he got into an accident in alot of states you would be held responsible for the damages. Of course you could turn around and sue him and the company but it would be a long painful process. I can't believe that. If anyone showed up to do work on anything of mine(especially my car) and they smell of alcohol forget it! You're not touching my baby.

To heck with the service manager, I think you need to speak to the owner, as well as send a letter to extreme. If it happened to you, it will happen to others.
Hope you get some satisfaction!

Geez...I would contact the owner to report this. I'm sure that he wouldn't appreciate his employees coming to work all boozed up. I sure wouldn't let them touch my car again EVER. If anyone put a cigarette butt in my ashtray (especially since NO ONE has ever lit up in my car), I would go freaking psycho on these people! They would be calling the cops on me for going looney tunes on them!
"I've crossed oceans of time to find you"
"I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way."

I am with everyone else here. Especially the fact that the guy was going to get in your car reeking of alcohol. Then there's a cigarette butt in your car. I think I would not only complain to the manager of your dealership, but to the manager of Extreme and your BBB as well. Two employees that are drunk on the job? Sounds like that company doesn't watch their employees very well to me.

what about the dealership itself, the company (Ford, Chevrolet, Saturn etc) don't they have a place you can complain to. I'd get satisfaction one way or another. I guess the dealership has nothing else to do except party!!! i'd sure complain to someone higher up!!

You really do need to send a letter to the top of the food chain and let the sh*t fall where it may. To send someone who was intoxicated on a service call is totally out of line. And the fact that the second guy was just as bad says something about the management of the dealership. If I were Ford or Chevy and I knew that this was going on at one of my dealerships I would be kicking some pants. This should not be tollerated under any circumstances at any place of business.
And this guy had to drive to your home to work on your car??? Sounds like a law suit in the making. I don't know if I wouldn't have called the cops as soon as he pulled out of the driveway and had him tested for DUI.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.
