12 Network TV Shows That Are Probably Going To Get Cancelled

    By Jessica Rawden

    http://www.cinemablend.com/televisio...led-71216.html

Our TV writers spend a lot of our day writing about television, which means we have pretty good insight when it comes to how fans and networks are looking at TV programs, as well as how many people are currently tuning in. While some expected cancellations have already occurred (rest in peace, Selfie and Red Band Society) and other shows have held on, at least for now, there’s a slew of fall and especially midseason programming out there that probably won't make it through the end-of-season spring cleaning at the networks. Here’s our list of 2014-2015 shows that are looking most likely to get cancelled right now.

Looking for a list of programs that have already been cancelled during the 2014-2015 TV season? No problem, head here.
    http://www.cinemablend.com/televisio...ers-68490.html

    Backstrom, Fox

Backstrom is a Hart Hanson project through and through, with a lead that’s unlikeable but sort of grows on the audience despite his major character flaws. Unfortunately, not enough people got through the first couple of episodes to see Backstrom begin to play out a lot like Bones, minus the gross-out factor. Backstrom’s probably not going to stick around next year, which is a bit of a shame, since Bones is now resorting to 1950s throwback episodes to entertain viewers.

    Battle Creek, CBS

I hate to say it, but Vince Gilligan’s CBS drama Battle Creek ain’t Breaking Bad. Stilted by a late Sunday night timeslot when it premiered at midseason, Battle Creek has not picked up the audience numbers that CBS was probably hoping for, which is a shame because it stars the incredibly handsome Josh Duhamel and the beeper king himself Dean Winters as they take down criminals in a mid-sized town. Less than 6 million people tuned in for the last episode on CBS, making Battle Creek’s chances of a Season 2 renewal look slim.

    Constantine, NBC

Constantine’s a weird one. While executive producer Daniel Cerone has been talking Season 2 pitches, NBC actually shut down production months ago without giving the series a full Season 1 order, which is typically bad news for a TV program. So, is Constantine cancelled? Will it come back for a limited run in Season 2? Chances of renewal are looking slim, but I'm guessing NBC will make us wait until May to find out.

    Galavant, ABC

Galavant aired back-to-back comedy episodes for four weeks before disappearing from the schedule entirely, and it didn’t have enough time to build an avid fanbase. Beyond this, the musical comedy continued to hemorrhage viewers as the episodes wore on. Galavant was billed as a “comedy extravaganza,” but now it’s looking more like a comedy flop, which sucks for the small faction of viewers who seemed to really like it.

    STALKER, CBS

Usually CBS really has to push the envelope to find programs to cancel, but this year, there are quite a few shows that may not be up to snuff. One of these is Stalker, a freshman drama that has been billed as violent, and happens to be the only Season 1 fall premiere that wasn’t renewed a few months back. Stalker’s prospects are looking as grim as its storylines.

    Cristela, ABC

ABC’s Cristela started out fairly strongly on the network—at least for a program that earned a Friday night slot. However, the show hasn’t been able to keep up with veteran comedy Last Man Standing’s ratings, and there’s a good chance ABC might opt to try something new next year. ABC could do worse than 4-5 million total viewers on Friday nights, though.

    The Following, Fox

Kevin Bacon may still be a big draw, but I’m not sure he’s big enough to keep this floating ship from sinking. The Following started as a cat and mouse game between Bacon’s Ryan Hardy and James Purefoy’s Joe Carroll, but it has taken so many twists and turns at this point, it has gotten ludicrous, which is not usually an adjective used to describe a show that is only in its third season. Ratings are way down in Season 3, and we’d be a little surprised if this one returns next year.

    Marry Me, NBC

The strange thing about including Marry Me on this list is that we probably could have included any number of NBC comedies. About A Boy made the fall version of this list, and new comedy One Big Happy hasn’t been an extraordinary success for NBC, either. The network’s whole comedy lineup is a bit of a mess, but Marry Me suffered a huge drop in the ratings when it returned in January, and now only a couple of million viewers are bothering to tune in.

    Forever, ABC

Forever’s had a pretty tough timeslot this year. The procedural, which follows an immortal man who solves crimes with the NYPD, has actually been received quite a bit better than you might guess. But thanks to its 10 p.m. Tuesday timeslot, a lot of its audience isn’t staying up to watch. The show does solidly on DVR, but unfortunately, DVR numbers probably won’t help it to earn a renewal.

    Hey ?! Isn't that one of "Bones" Squint-terns ??

    Resurrection, ABC

It’s amazing how quickly a TV series can falter. During its first season, Resurrection nabbed a huge Season 1 premiere and continued to do well through the spring last year. This year, it was given a full season order and popped up in the fall schedule. Regardless of the good news, it has struggled throughout the year to earn ratings even close to what the show was getting during Season 1. People are less interested in people coming back from the dead, or maybe some of Resurrection’s audience has just switched to A&E’s The Returned.

    State Of Affairs, NBC

Katherine Heigl’s new drama hasn’t had the most solid audience on NBC. What it does have going for it is that most of NBC’s lineup hasn’t been doing great this TV season, with exceptions going to programs like The Voice and The Blacklist. Early reports indicate that State of Affairs is going to end its freshman season on a cliffhanger, so at least if the show goes out, it’ll go out swinging.

    CSI, CBS

CBS's CSI is one of the longest-running procedurals on television. Premiering in 2000, the CBS drama has already aired its Season 15 finale, and it looks like that will be the end of the road for the drama. While CSI still earns remarkably decent ratings for being so old, the show has now lost original series lead George Eads, who played Nick Stokes on the drama. It's probably time to cancel the beloved drama and give fresh new shows like Scorpion a chance to shine.

Revenge Cancelled, Season 4 Will Be Its Last

By Nick Venable 26 minutes ago

If revenge is a dish best served cold, then ABC’s Revenge took a trip through the Arctic Circle as Emily VanCamp’s Emily Thorne schemed and plotted her vengeance against Madeline Stowe’s Victoria Grayson, the woman who ruined her life. And now that due justice has been mostly served, it looks like the hit drama will officially be coming to an end after the Season 4 finale.

Here’s how executive producer Sunil Nayar put it to EW.
We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story. We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale—which is fabulous—everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to end.
While this news is no doubt disheartening for many fans, it's hard to argue that this series has run its course and absolutely told the story it set out to tell, with several soapy deviations along the way. Revenge has remained a solid ratings draw for ABC over the past four years, maintaining an average of between 8 and 9 million total viewers for each season, though Season 4 has seen a downturn in audiences tuning in to the live episodes. Sunday nights are rough for series, but fabulous for TV fans.

Created by Mike Kelley, Revenge kicked off in 2011 as a duplicitous cat and prim mouse game, with Emily Thorne seeking retribution for her tarnished childhood as Amanda Clarke, during which her father was framed for treason and killed in prison. (Or was he?) Emily focused her sights on her father's framer, Victoria, and made it her life's work to turn Victoria's life into a living hell. As the story continued, Emily had to shift her plan around to accommodate for changes, but never stopped ruining lives in the meantime. A couple of weeks ago, the show gave audiences one of its biggest shocks ever, which makes this cancellation all the more sensible.

But let's not act like there still aren't two more action-packed episodes left. Check out a preview for the penultimate episode, "Plea," below.

Will Emily/Amanda finally be able to walk away from this story as a happy free woman, or will her future turn as dark as her past? Find out when Revenge airs its newly-dubbed series finale, “Two Graves,” on Sunday, May 10, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. Be sure and wear your best black outfit, and check out other shows that have been cancelled and renewed here. http://www.cinemablend.com/televisio...ers-68490.html

She's goofy looking, and annoying as hell.........

and he reminds me of Ray Romano. (goofy looking, and annoying as hell! )

    I hope this show tanks.

Another season of tv shows that suck!
Those other shows that are listed, I've never heard of.

My fave show right now is "Undateable" on NBC. Friggin hilarious! (Which means it will be cancelled soon too!)

    ABC cancels 'Forever,' 'Cristela

    osted May 7 2015 — 10:02 PM EDT

ABC is lowering the ax: Freshman drama Forever and new comedy Cristela have both been canceled.

The moves come amid a frantic series of verdicts on new and returning shows made by the network on Thursday.

ABC has made some tough decisions today in terms of cancellations and renewals. After deliberating, the network ultimately decided to cancel freshman program Forever along with the comedy Cristela--a primetime comedy that highlighted a Mexican-American family in their home. Forever just wrapped up its series on Tuesday night, while Cristela finished out its run in the middle of April. In addition, the Season 2 drama Resurrection will not be returning for Season 3.

Regarding the two freshman programs, ABC’s big announcement was not a huge surprise, as neither show was performing super well in the ratings. On the flip side of the coin, neither show was performing horribly, either, so there was a chance that one or both could be renewed. Instead, ABC opted to take a chance with second seasons of other bubble shows Agent Carter and Galavant. The two cancelled programs join the recently axed Revenge on the cancellation block; that drama will finish out its run this Sunday.

Of the two shows, Forever had the more avid fanbase on social media and seemed to be generally well-liked by audiences—at least the audiences who had discovered the show. Forever’s supernatural bent, following an immortal individual who used his historic insight to help the NYPD solve cases made the procedural standout, and it’s finale was one of the best I’ve personally caught all season, wrapping up enough storylines, but leaving enough information to continue on to Season 2 should ABC have wished it. Despite the clever ending, we probably should have seen it coming when lead Ioan Gruffudd thanked fans for sticking with the show, telling US Weekly it could be the end of the road.

It's pretty extraordinary — people who have seen the show are are huge fans of the show, and [everyone else] has never heard of the show. We're very much on the bubble because we weren't a runaway hit, but if you ask anybody that's seen the show they can't believe that it's not a big hit. People are so passionate about it.

As it turns out, it was the end. Deadline reports it probably didn’t help Forever that the show was not owned by ABC; Warner Bros. TV produced the drama. Cristela suffered because it couldn’t keep up with Last Man Standing’s ratings on Friday nights. It could be worse, I suppose. Both shows earned full 22-episode orders and kept audiences watching until the very end. That’s way better than ABC’s comedy Selfie got earlier this season. It's also better than ABC's Manhattan Love Story, which aired for a paltry four episodes before getting shoved off the schedule.

Regarding Resurrection, it's been a much harder fall. The drama hit ABC's schedule at midseason last year and drew huge numbers for the premiere. It's no shock that Resurrection premiered as part of the fall season this year, but man have the numbers fallen on that show. Ratings dropped during the season and the show ended its run way back in January. This one seemed as if it wouldn't need to be revived next fall.

Forever's Ioan Gruffudd Gave A Touching Thank You To Fans Following Cancellation

By Jessica Rawden 7 hours ago

It still hasn’t wholly sunk in that ABC has cancelled Forever, the supernatural procedural series following an immortal man who has chosen to use his medical and historical insights to help the NYPD to solve cases. As it turns out, lead Ioan Gruffudd is nearly as upset about the cancellation as fans are. He recently gave us rare insight into the mind of a celebrity directly after his show was cancelled. Here’s what he had to say:

I sat down and started reading the thousands of Tweets in response to the announcement. And the more I read, the more I couldn’t believe it. The love, the sense of solidarity, the hope, the kindness, the support. Not just for the show, but for each other. And slowly I began to focus on what we had gained in the past year, rather than what we had lost in the last five minutes. I was overcome by a sense of gratitude. To have met you all and to have you all rooting for me and the show. At having a chance to play the role of my dreams, even if it was only for a year. To have been given the chance to bring Henry to life.
I don’t know about you, but Gruffudd’s humble response regarding his experience on Forever is really refreshing. We don’t get to see actors come out and speak so lovingly about TV shows very often, and Gruffudd’s thoughtful response comes from a heartfelt place. Plus, it comes at a time when many, many avid fans are still hurting over the loss of Forever, and to see him call playing Dr. Henry Morgan “the role of my dreams” is super poignant.

It’s always interesting to hear that the actors involved with shows are just as in dark as the audience about whether or not their show will be returning, although the stakes are certainly higher for those actually involved with the show, as they depend on programs like Forever for their livelihood. In the Instagram post, Gruffudd also relates his candid reaction to his series getting cancelled.

To be honest I really wasn’t expecting it. I knew the numbers hadn’t been great, but I also knew the studio and the network both loved the show, and of course that it had an incredible fan base…so I thought we were in with a pretty good chance.
It’s always going to be annoying to some factions when a network cancels a series, but it’s especially annoying when a network cancels a series with an avid fanbase like ABC’s Forever. Especially when the network picks up other shows with less intense fanbases and similar ratings. I guess we must be content with the fact that that creator Matthew Miller capably wrapped up the finale with a satisfying conclusion relating to the his arch nemesis Adam, as well as the secret he had kept from his NYPD partner, Joe. I wish we could’ve stuck around for some potential romance next season and I wish we could have learned more about Henry and Abe’s years together, but I’m happy at least that the story was tied up nicely and thankful Gruffudd put so much into the role.

Their problem with Forever is because of the NAME used and what the story is about. If they only chose a different name for the show, it most likely could have been renewed. There's too much legal battle for a book by the name of Forever, with a similar story line.

They want to go that route. About 6 years ago FOX had a show called New Amsterdam. I want to watch that show when it aired, only found it on hulu, and wondered why I never was able to catch it when it was new.

Same, close to exact story as Forever, but the guy who couldn't die, was the detective, and his female side kick was the medical examiner.

He was called 'Dutch' and in his era when born NYC was called New Amsterdam. It lasted 6 episodes.

Forever made it to 22 episodes, just one episode short of a full season. Seemed it had its start and ending in 22 episodes, but wondered if he did tell her about himself as to they why she would find his pocket watch, and not him.

If that has happened to your new favorite show, and it appears on ABC, Fox, or NBC, go over to hulu.com and you just might be able to pick up shows that did not air before it was taken.
