Saddest movie you ever saw ?

I cannot remember this movie at all.When you think of the saddest movie in history, the choice you come up with likely depends on factors like your age, gender and, of course, which movies you’ve seen. For movie-goers in your reporter’s generation, Bambi is certainly right there near the top. According to the scientific community, however, the saddest movie in the world is director Franco Zeffirelli’s 1979 remake, The Champ.
A tale about an aging boxer trying to make a comeback, The Champ is not exactly known as a classic. Rotten Tomatoes only gives the flick a 38 percent approval rating. But the climax of the movie — which shows a 9-year-old Rick Schroder weeping over the death of his father in the film, “The Champ,” (played by Jon Voight) — has long been used by scientists in studies about sadness.
I would have to go with Old Yeller - Where the Red Fern Grows - Steel Magnolias - although Bambi is right up there too ....

I think it was called Ladder 59 where the fireman was trapped in the building knowing they couldn't save him and died. And The Perfect Storm was sad too.

What Dreams may come is very sad. Marley and me is pretty sad also.
Sometimes different things just are hard to watch, The movie Brothers was very hard for me to watch because my daughter was overseas at the time and we hadn't been able to tal to her in a few months. How about the HBO special Taking Chance, with Kevin Bacon? That was sad, excellent movie though!!!

This is an old one----"Imitation of Life" It goes from sad to sadder to even sadder. It's probably shown on TCM.

...and I think I cry everytime I watch Beaches.
