    The Oscars---

I noticed most of the actresses did not have on the big bling jewelry this year. May be because of the bad economy. They don't want to flaunt it too much for the moviegoers.

Maybe they are afraid Lindsey Lohan is hiding in the audience somewhere.

This actress turned those petals into a fashion statement---LOL

Petals are suppose to be worn under clothing to cover up but now they are made the color of the dress and worn to be shown. ???

They said that Amy Adams wore $1.3 million in jewlery.

I just hope most of them didn't wear alot of diamonds because of the controversy behind diamond mining, diamond cutting, etc...

I saw lots of emeralds in earrings, but agree that most of the jewelry was understated. I loved all the gowns. I don't think anyone wore anything that was ugly. I thought Jennifer Hudson's gown was gorgeous...but her hair looked almost like a plastic headpiece.

I also liked Anne Hathaway. I thought she was warm, funny and engaging. James Franco...not so much. What was up with him anyway?

That's James Franco. That's all him. I absolutely LOVE him and think he is hilarious. When he came out after Marisa Tomei announced the techinical awards and James Franco said, "Congratulations nerds.", I about died. Thats so James Franco. The producers of the Oscars had to have known that thats just the way he is., if they were looking for him to act any way except himself then they are strupid for hiring him. They were going for a younger demographic, not that I am younger, but I totally get him and love him.
He's amazing, he has a PhD from Yale., he's taken numerous classes at one time from New York Universities all while keeping a 3.5+GPA., he's taught classes, he's brilliant. I found it hilarious that he took a job on General Hospital, because he was going to be in a movie about a soap actor, so what better way to know how soap actors act than to become a soap actor. He's a renissance man!

I know he is quite intelligent...but couldn't tell if his 'indifference' was scripted or part of his demeanor. I found it boring...although his comment "Congratulations nerds" appeared spontaneous and funny.

It isn't usually their jewelry anyway it is on loan 99.99% of the time - so it isn't like they are hiding their own wealth. I do agree with Littlered1 about Lindsey Lohan though (too funny).

Janelle I love Mila Kunis' gown. Why do I just keep thinking of her as Jackie? Did any of you see Black Swan? It was "interesting" & I am not referring to the sex scenes. They were PG-13, no nudity at all.

I loved her gown as well. I didn't realize what the lacy coverups were separate 'petals'...but I thought they were a lovely accent to the gown which kept it modest.

Yeah, I love how simple everyone was with their jewelry. I love the toned down look.
