Peggy Rea, Actress on 'The Dukes of Hazzard,' Dead at 89

Actress Peggy Rea, best known for her television roles in "The Dukes of Hazzard," "Grace Under Fire" and "Step by Step," died on Monday. She was 89.

A native of Los Angeles who began her TV career in the 1960s, Rea's resume reads like an overview of classic American television: it includes "I Love Lucy," "Bonanza," "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "Gunsmoke," "MacGyver" and "The Waltons."

She was a series regular on "Step by Step" and "Grace Under Fire," playing Suzanne Somers' mother and Brett Butler's mother-in-law, respectively.

But to many fans Rea will always be known as Lulu Hogg, Boss Hogg's brassy, outspoken better half.
