    Child Psychologist Blasts Supernanny

We might just laugh off the implausibility of these programs except that they’re teaching millions of real parents how to raise their real kids. To that extent, it matters that they’re selling snake-oil.

I disagree with the article.A whole lot of people these days do not know how,or are afraid to discipline their children. While I am not sure how "scripted"these shows are I think the techniques the nannies use are worth learning.I have seen a lot of people who would benefit from watching their commonsense approach to discipline.

I agree. I believe parenting has "gone out of style". I hope lots of people watch and learn from those shows.

They make good points. How are you gong to reason with a 3 year old when they are having a tantrum? They need a time out to settle down before you talk to them.
