CBS draws curtain on "Moonlight"
CBS draws curtain on "Moonlight"

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - CBS' vampire drama "Moonlight" will not rise again. Sources confirmed that the fan favorite will not be renewed by the network for a second season.
CBS chose not to pick up the series because it was failing to hold its "Ghost Whisperer" lead-in and its ratings had declined in the weeks after the writers' strike. Last Friday's episode garnered a 2.0 rating among adults 18 to 49.
The news is sure to devastate "Moonlight" fans, who, by any standard, have been passionate about the show. Recently fans organized a nationwide blood drive to rally viewer support for a renewal.
Last year CBS picked up cult favorite "Jericho" despite mediocre ratings, only to see the series plummet when it returned this year. Given the serialized storyline of "Moonlight," the chances of the show rebounding next season seemed slim.
The cancellation means that "The Big Bang Theory" is the only member of CBS' freshman crop to return next year.

I can not believe they are cancelling "Moonlight" and "Shark" while keeping this other ... crap ... like Christine and "How I Met Your Mother"
CBS renews sitcoms "Christine," "Mother," "Rules"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "The New Adventures of Old Christine," which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a divorced mother, is returning to the CBS schedule with a 22-episode order.
The network also has picked up the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," the action drama "The Unit" and the relationship comedy "Rules of Engagement."
The James Woods-starring crime drama "Shark" and cult favorite "Moonlight" were canceled.
CBS renewed "Old Christine" Tuesday morning, a day before its "upfront" presentation to advertisers and hours before ABC was to unveil its lineup. According to sources, ABC had been ready to announce a 22-episode pickup of "Christine" if CBS opted for a cancellation or a shorter order.
The renewal of "Mother" follows a strong return for the show after the writers' strike, buoyed by guest appearances by Britney Spears.
Meanwhile, CBS brass is said to have been very pleased by Shawn Ryan's outline for the upcoming season of "The Unit," which centers on covert warriors.

The dramas are Eleventh Hour, about a professor who partners with a government operative; The Ex List, about a woman who tracks down her past boyfriends after a psychic predicts she has already met the man she is going to marry; Harper's Island, an Agatha Christie-like murder mystery; and The Mentalist, about a man who works as an independent contractor for the police.

CBC doesn't know what they are doing most of the time anyways. Killing Moonlight off their network is a prime example of just that. Dumbest move ever....

I'm so glad they didn't cancel Reaper, I really like this show still not happy about Moonlight. I honestly think they should give all shows another half season when it starts this fall since the writers strike messed everything up.
