    Thumbs up "American Sniper"

    What a warrior!!!
    Jack Smith

If you plan on seeing "American Sniper" be sure to read this:
    .
Make sure you take the time to read what is written here. This will make the movie experience far more meaningful and make you question our leaders even more.

This is a long read. It’s worth your time. Our government may be a mess but we Americans still have HONOR!

This is why America will remain strong. We take care of our own as well as others who may not deserve taking care of. I just wanted to share that out of a horrible tragedy we were blessed by so many people at Chris Kyle’s funeral.

Chris became the armed services number #1 sniper of all time. Not something he was happy about, other than the fact that in so doing, he saved a lot of American lives.

Three years ago, his wife Taya asked him to leave the SEAL teams as he had a huge bounty on his head by Al Qaeda. He did and wrote the book "The American Sniper." 100% of the proceeds from the book went to two of the SEAL families who had lost their sons in Iraq .

That was the kind of guy Chris was. He formed a company in Dallas to train military, police and I think firemen as far as protecting themselves in difficult situations. He also formed a foundation to work with military people suffering from PTSD. Chris was a giver not a taker.

He, along with a friend and neighbor, Chad Littlefield, were murdered trying to help a young man that had served six months in Iraq and claimed to have PTSD.

Now I need to tell you about all of the blessings.

Southwest Airlines flew in any SEAL and their family from any airport they flew into...free of charge. The employees donated buddy passes and one lady worked for four days without much of a break to see that it happened. Volunteers were at both airports in Dallas to drive them to the hotel. The Marriott Hotel reduced their rates to $45 a night and cleared the hotel for only SEALs and family.

The Midlothian, TX Police Department paid the $45 a night for each room. I would guess there were about 200 people staying at the hotel, 100 of them were SEALs. Two large buses were chartered (an unknown donor paid the bill) to transport people to the different events and they also had a few rental cars (donated). The police and secret service were on duty 24 hours during the stay at our hotel.

At the Kyle house, the Texas DPS parked a large motor home in front to block the view from reporters. It remained there the entire five days for the SEALs to congregate in and all to use the restroom so as not to have to go in the house. Taya, their two small children and both sets of parents were staying in the home.

Only a hand full of SEALs went into the home as they had different duties and meetings were held sometimes on a hourly basis. It was a huge coordination of many different events and security. Derek was assigned to be a Pall Bearer, to escort Chris' body when it was transferred from the Midlothian Funeral Home to the Arlington Funeral Home, and to be with Taya. A tough job.

Taya seldom came out of her bedroom. The house was full with people from the church and other family members that would come each day to help. I spent one morning in a bedroom with Chris’ mom and the next morning with Chad Littlefield's parents (the other man murdered with Chris). A tough job.

George W Bush and his wife Laura met and talked to everyone on the Seal Team one on one. They went behind closed doors with Taya for quite a while. They had prayer with us all. You can tell when people were sincere and caring.

Nolan Ryan sent his cooking team, a huge grill and lots of steaks, chicken and hamburgers. They set up in the front yard and fed people all day long including the 200 SEALs and their families. The next day a local BBQ restaurant set up a buffet in front of the house and fed all once again. Food was plentiful and all were taken care of. The family's church kept those inside the house well fed.

Jerry Jones, the man everyone loves to hate, was a rock star. He made sure that we all were taken care of. His wife and he were just making sure everyone was taken care of….Class... He donated the use of Cowboy Stadium for the services as it was determined that so many wanted to attend.

The charter buses transported us to the stadium on Monday at 10:30 am. Every car, bus, motorcycle was searched with bomb dogs and police. I am not sure if kooks were making threats trying to make a name for themselves or if so many SEALs in one place was a security risk, I don't know. We willingly obliged. No purses went into the stadium!

We were taken to The Legends room high up and a large buffet was available. That was for about 300 people. We were growing.

A Medal of Honor recipient was there, lots of secret service and police and Sarah Palin and her husband. She looked nice, this was a very formal military service.

The service started at 1:00 pm and when we were escorted onto the field I was shocked. We heard that about 10,000 people had come to attend also. They were seated in the stadium seats behind us. It was a beautiful and emotional service.

The Bagpipe and drum corps were wonderful and the Texas A&M men's choir stood through the entire service and sang right at the end. We were all in tears.

The next day was the 200-mile procession from Midlothian, TX to Austin for burial. It was a cold, drizzly, windy day, but the people were out. We had dozens of police motorcycles riders, freedom riders, five chartered buses and lots of cars. You had to have a pass to be in the procession and still it was huge. Two helicopters circled the procession with snipers sitting out the side door for protection. It was the longest funeral procession ever in the state of Texas. People were everywhere. The entire route was shut down ahead of us, the people were lined up on the side of the road the entire way. Firemen were down on one knee, police officers were holding their hats over their hearts, children waving flags, veterans saluting as we went by. Every bridge had fire trucks with large flags displayed from their tall ladders, people all along the entire 200 miles were standing in the cold weather. It was so heartwarming. Taya rode in the hearse with Chris' body so Derek rode the route with us. I was so grateful to have that time with him.

The service was at Texas National Cemetery. Very few are buried there and you have to apply to get in. It is like people from the Civil War, Medal of Honor winners, a few from the Alamo and all the historical people of Texas. It was a nice service and the Freedom Riders surrounded the outside of the entire cemetery to keep the crazy church people from Kansas that protest at military funerals away from us.

Each SEAL put his Trident (metal SEAL badge) on the top of Chris' casket, one at a time. A lot hit it in with one blow. Derek was the only one to take four taps to put his in and it was almost like he was caressing it as he did it. Another tearful moment.

After the service Governor Rick Perry and his wife, Anita, invited us to the governor's mansion. She stood at the door, greeted each of us individually, and gave each of the SEALs a coin of Texas. She was a sincere, compassionate, and gracious hostess.

We were able to tour the ground floor and then went into the garden for beverages and BBQ. So many of the Seal team guys said that after they get out they are moving to Texas. They remarked that they had never felt so much love and hospitality. The charter buses then took the guys to the airport to catch their returning flights. Derek just now called and after a 20 hours flight he is back in his spot, in a dangerous land on the other side of the world, protecting America.

We just wanted to share with you, the events of a quite emotional, but blessed week.

To this day, no one in the White House has ever acknowledged Chris Kyle! However, the President can call some sport person and congratulate him on announcing to the world that he is gay?? What is happening to our society, our honor and our pride??

    Please, keep this moving!

The Man Who Defeated the Devil in Georgia Just Took On Michael Moore Over American Sniper
January 22, 2015 By Matthew Burke

Michael Moore just got more pushback regarding his insinuating in a comment about the “American Sniper,” the blockbuster movie about the life of the most lethal sniper in American military history, Chris Kyle, that all snipers are cowards. http://www.tpnn.com/2015/01/18/micha...s-are-cowards/

Famous country singer Charlie Daniels has run to Kyle’s defense, delivering a tweet ripping the communist film producer’s anti-military stance

Green Beret Sniper Pens AWESOME Letter to ‘Crisco Sweating’ Michael Moore
January 20, 2015 By Jennifer Burke

On Monday, Americans learned that the box office premiere of American Sniper, a movie about the life of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, shattered all box office records bringing in $90.2 million. By the end of the holiday weekend, the movie was expected to have a grand total of $105 million. Progressive filmmaker Michael Moore used this moment as a time to go on the attack against snipers with his tweet calling them cowards.

This was seen as not only an insult to the legacy of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, credited with being the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history, but also an insult to all American military snipers and all who put on the uniform in service to our country.

Green Beret sniper Bryan Sikes took some time to pen a letter to Moore that absolutely destroyed him in an incredibly hilarious and fabulous way.

    Mr. Moore-

Good afternoon there sweetheart, I hope this finds you alive and well. You can thank our men and women of the armed forces for that, by the way, and that also includes us cowardly snipers. It seems you’ve found time between licking the jelly off your fingers and releasing your grasp of a bear claw to tweet some junk about snipers being cowards.

My buddies and I got a good laugh over the tweet, so I thank you. For a guy worth $50 million dollars, you sure have quite a bit to bitch and cry about. I guess like a moth to flame, you too gravitate towards things that are popular and in the moment — in this case it’s snipers. Too bad for you that your attempt at being relevant via your 70+ year old family experience has failed. It has only made you look dumber than a bag of hammers. Next time you should try something more original than going after snipers for one reason or another…that was so last month.

It’s typical of “men” like you to criticize the intestinal fortitude, focus, discipline and patriotism of a sniper. It must stem from an inferiority complex or something. But hey, it’s okay cupcake. We snipers are thick skinned and the efforts of world class turds such as yourself to portray us in a negative light only makes us laugh. If you and I were in the same room, I’d throw you a smile and gently pat you on the head knowing you’re nothing more than a mouth breathing, Crisco sweating waste of space not even worthy of being in the presence of a sniper. It’s almost funny how people like you preach things like ‘acceptance’ and ‘not passing judgement’ or ‘labeling people’, but then are the first to do so when a person is in some way dissimilar from you.

So tenderfoot, I leave you with this final thought: what if you found yourself in some sort of hostage situation where you were held at knife-point by some crazed person and they were dead set on making an example of you by bleeding you out on Hollywood Blvd in front of the world, and the only way out was with the precision aimed fire of a sniper? Would you want that coward to take the shot? Because knowing how you feel about snipers such as myself and your hatred of firearms, I’d probably drop the mag, roll the bolt and go get a Jack & Coke before helping you out.

    Very Respectfully,

    Sikes
Sikes, who is currently a Pro-Am shooter for GA precision Team Bushnell, undoubtedly has many people who can get behind these words and appreciate him putting Michael Moore in his place in such an epic way.

Howard Dean Joins in on the Chorus of Liberals Insulting Chris Kyle, Gets Slammed by Gary Sinise
January 26, 2015 By Jennifer Burke

Back in 2004, Howard Dean was a Democrat presidential candidate hopeful who suddenly witnessed his campaign fall apart after one moment he probably wishes everyone would forget. In an effort to come across as passionate with a screaming rallying cry, Dean instead came across to many as unstable. His attempt at displaying anger backfired and, in that moment, his candidacy was over.

Now Dean, who went on to serve as the chair of the Democrat National Committee from 2005 to 2009 as well as governor of Vermont from 1991 to 2003, appeared on a panel on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. The discussion topic was the movie American Sniper, which details the life of the deadliest sniper in American military history, Chris Kyle, which has shattered box office records.

Joining in the chorus of liberals who have attacked the legacy of Kyle, including Michael Moore and Seth Rogen, Dean decided he had to have his say.

Deciding to use this as an opportunity to not only attack Kyle, but also the Tea Party, Dean said, “There is a lot of anger in this country, and the people who go see this movie are people who are very angry … I bet you if you looked at a cross-section of the Tea Party and people who go see this movie, there’s a lot of intersection.”

Actor Gary Sinise, who is a big supporter of our troops through his Gary Sinise Foundation, was not going to allow Dean to get away with disparaging the name of Kyle or attacking the Tea Party. He responded on Twitter.

Here is the full text of what Sinise said.

    To Howard Dean,

I saw American Sniper and would not consider myself to be an angry person. You certainly have a right to make stupid blanket statements, suggesting that all people who see this film are angry, but how is that helpful sir? Do you also suggest that everyone at Warner Brothers is angry because they released the film? That Clint Eastwood, Jason Hall, Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and the rest of the cast and crew are angry because they made the film? Chris Kyle’s story deserved to be told. It tells a story of the stress that multiple deployments have on one military family, a family representative of thousands of military families. It helps to communicate the toll that the war on terror has taken on our defenders. Defenders and families who need our support. I will admit that perhaps somewhere among the masses of people who are going to see the film there may be a few that might have some anger or have been angry at some point in their lives, but, with all due respect, what the hell are you talking about?
Do you think Dean will soon back away from his ugly comments about Chris Kyle, a real American hero?

Alec Baldwin Takes Swipe at Dean Cain for Defending Chris Kyle
January 22, 2015 By Jennifer Burke

After the record breaking debut of American Sniper, the film starring Bradley Cooper about the life of America’s deadliest sniper Chris Kyle, some prominent liberals made the decision to attack not only the movie, but also Kyle and all other snipers who have served in the U.S. military.

Progressive filmmaker Michael Moore called Kyle and all other sniper cowards and actor Seth Rogen compared the movie to a Nazi propaganda film. While both tried to walk back their comments after the backlash they faced, it was too late. Many people, including some celebrities, had words for these two Leftists for their hate-filled attack on an American hero.

Actor Dean Cain was a personal friend of Chris Kyle and sent his own message to Moore and Rogen in a tweet.

Alec Baldwin, who has made national news for attacking reporters, using anti-gay slurs, and berating his own then 11-year old daughter, tweeted a snarky question to Dean Cain. Although the big man with a big mouth Baldwin can dish it out, it looks like he can’t take it. He has blocked me from seeing his Twitter account.

Maybe he is not so proud of the vitriol that he spews on Twitter, or maybe he just has an incredibly thin skin to go with his hot air. But, thanks to the great folks at Twitchy, I can share with you some of the responses he got from folks on Twitter standing up for Cain and Kyle.

Clint Eastwood Fires Back at ‘American Sniper’ Critics Who Seem to Have No Clue What Film is About
By Mike Miller (7 hours ago)

Criticism of Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper blockbuster has been harsh and widespread in some circles. From being labeled a pro-war, pro-Republican movie, to Michael Moore’s “I was taught that snipers are cowards” tweet, the criticism has been widely reported as well.

Now, Eastwood has not only responded to the critics, but his response may surprise most of us — especially those who have condemned the film. Speaking at Saturday’s Producers Guild Award Nominees Breakfast, he said: https://www.yahoo.com/movies/clint-e...039032327.html

“The biggest antiwar statement any film [can make is to show] the fact of what [war] does to the family and the people who have to go back into civilian life like Chris Kyle did.”

“One of my favorite war movies that I’ve been involved with is Letters from Iwo Jima. And that was are about family, about being taken away from life, being sent someplace.” In World War II, everybody just sort of went home and got over it.

Now there is some effort to help people through it. In Chris Kyle’s case, no good deed went unpunished.”
After Eastwood decided to make the movie, he and Bradley Cooper (who portrays Chris Kyle) went to Texas to meet with Kyle’s widow and the rest of his family.

“I thought I’d better meet the rest of the family and see what they looked like and that would probably dictate the casting and to see what Mrs. Kyle was like.

It was of great value to [Bradley] because he could get into the history of the family and their feelings about the whole situation.”
Critics have suggested that Eastwood should not only have made an anti-war statement in American Sniper, but that he also should have made the case that America should not have gone to war in the Iraq in the first place. In other words, the movie should have been politicized to their liking.

Incidentally, I saw American Sniper Saturday evening. It was neither pro-war nor anti-war. Moreover, it was completely apolitical.

Muslim Student at University of Missouri Demands Cancellation of “American Sniper” and Apology from University
    March 16, 2015 By Perry Jones

A Muslim student activist at the University of Missouri demanded the University cancel a scheduled screening on campus of “American Sniper,” the top grossing film of 2014.

Farah El-Jayyousi issued a statement that showing the film on campus would make her feel “unsafe” and she went so far as to demand an “apology and explanation” from the University as to why the movie was chosen to be shown on campus.

She wrote, “This film is blatant racist, colonialist propaganda that should not be shown under any circumstances and especially not endorsed by a branch of student government that purports to represent me and have my best interests in mind.”

El-Jayyousi, a self-proclaimed radical Muslim feminist, accused the film of dehumanizing Muslims and glorifying the murder of Iraqis. She also referred to Chris Kyle, the Navy Seal central character in the film, as “a killer with no regard for human life.”

As a result, she claimed, “I do not feel safe on this campus and for good reason. The fact this film is being shown, the fact that I have to explain why this film is not only problematic but harmful makes me feel even more unsafe. Showing this film will create an even more hostile environment for me and other Arab, Muslim, South Asian and people of color on this campus.”

El-Jayyousi continued, “I am asking that this film not be shown and that an official, public apology and explanation be issued by all partied involved in approving the screening of American Sniper on Mizzou’s campus.”

University of Missouri student government said it received numerous letters in support of El-Jayyousi, but that “many [letters] took offense to the article…[and]a common thread in the debate is the tension between free speech and a student’s right to feel safe on campus.”

Finally, the student government decided to proceed with the screening on campus, but promised to have an event to help “cultivate an inclusive campus climate” in an effort to appease El-Jayyousi’s demands.

Meanwhile anyone opposing Vivid Entertainment on campus would be labeled a close minded bigot ??
