? - Can Playstation3 play Playstation1&2 games?

DH says that the Playstation 3 cannot play the Playstation 1 & 2 games, only Playstation3 games.... Some chump at work says they can, I think DH is right?

From what I've read, the 60gb one will play almost all ps1/ps2 games, the 80gb will play some, and the 40gb will play none.

This is correct, my son has the 80G version and his will not play PS1 or PS2 games. It sucks that his model is not backwards compatible, but we all still love the machine anyway!

I have 2 ps3's. One is the older 80g and one is a new 80g. The older one plays the ps2 games and the newer one does not.
