Motherf..ing Son of a B!!!!ing, toothache from HELL!"
I have two teeth that had root canals and temporary fillings in March. These root canals ate up all my insurance til Feb. So, I've put off gettin the crowns, as it would cost me 1500 out of my pocket. One of the teeth started getting a little sore, so I finished up some antibiotic I had at home, then it felt ok for a bit. Next thing I know, it's tender again so I get some antibiotic from my MD and finish it out and the tooth felt ok for about a week. Welp, I decide I've got to get these teeth done, so I call the dentist and cant get in until 1/3 for the crowns, but he did see me yesterday and did an xray and sure enough...big abscess under the tooth. I started back on more antibiotics yesteray and BAM! These teeth hurt like a MOFO! I'm taking some Vicodens he gave me too, but if I take a whole one, I'm so dizzy and loopy I can't do anything. If I take a half, it's not enough to kill the pain. They give me a headache and a tummyache (even with food). So, I've got a headache, tummyache and a toothache all at once.
Dh's family is coming here today for Christmas dinner and I feel like crap! whaahh!!!
Luckily, we switched dental insurace last month, so my new insurance starts 1/1! Still gonna cost me several hundred, but better than a couple thousand. DAMN teeth! I really wish I had just gotten them all out and got dentures. I've got so much $$ in my mouth and my teeth and partial still are lousy!
sorry....done now........

Thanks guys. I slept off and on all nite....about every 1/2 hour I was . I keep taking 1/2 pill at a time. Finally slept about 2 hours when baby woke up. I know this sounds gross, but after laying down, I have the "metal" taste in my mouth. I think maybe the abscess is draining? BARF! Better out than in I suppose. I think that's why I feel nauseated too. But I can't chew to put anything in my tummy. Pudding and soggy Fruity Pebbles is what I've been living on. lol!

I FEEL FOR YA as well! I am constantely paranoid that I'll lose my teeth. I also cannot take Vicodin, I get sicker than a dog when I take them even with food. I cannot understand why most dentists prefer to prescribe Vicodin when 90% of the people who take it have to eat before they can take it & if your teeth hurt, how the hells are you supposed to eat? ITS FOOLISH

I hope you feel better soon. I was complaining to a friend of mine about how much my caps cost and turns out her partials are the same price. So guess a person can't win.

Don't put it off, those things can get really nasty. I had a root canel on a back upper tooth years ago. I got an infection there this fall and tried to ignore it, then got antibiotics from my doctor. It cleared up some but came back. I got two more drugs from my dentist, one for the tooth and one to protect my heart from the infection. Now it's still not gone and has settled into my jawbone. Luckily there's not too much pain but I'm facing appointments in another state with specialists, probably surgery on my upper jaw and who knows what else. I'll NEVER ignore anything tooth related again.

Sorry you're in so much pain. The dentist said I needed root canals but my insurance doesn't cover them and I can't afford to pay for it myself so he said the only other option is to pull them and get a partial. I was supposed to start getting the bad ones pulled in November but I'm waiting until after the holidays. I hope you're feeling better.

I maxed out on my dental benefits this year too due to crown, root canal, extactions adn lots of fillings. I still needed work done, so I applied for CAreCredit at carecredit.com, ny dentist takes it and it has saved me from a lot of pain and infections using it I still have to pay full price, but only a little at a time and I got a special no interest for so many months and it truly has helped my budget a lot !
I do hope you start feeling better, try a hot pack on your jaw it works better at drawing out the infection than ice does.
