Its been 2 yrs and its still on going. been to 3 different drs. has me out of bed every 2 hours with my nose so stopped up it takes 2 hours just to get it going again. dr tested no allergies to animals or nothing. i used to love perfumes, burn tarts, smell of carmel and chocolate now i can't stand it. drs. don't know what else to do. meds aren't working. i have a feeling i may be in for sinus surgery. ackkkk... well as long as i don't miss work lol. i love my job.

Have you tried those shower soothers? They clear my head up when my sinus' get bad. I also use those sudafed plug-ins if I get really stuffy.

I would think long and hard about surgery. My DD had septoplasty when she was 5 and it didn't do a bit of good

There is nothing that is on the market that will completely help her allergies, but singulair helps some.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I had the surgery and I had polyops removed and I am now on steroids and battling constant sinus problems. On diff meds good luck as buttrfli said think long and hard about the surgery. I was out of work for over a week and it is painful. Thats why I am on the meds I dont want to do it again.

I have had a couple different sinus surgeries. And while my condition has vastly improved I would need one more surgery to be "normal". My insurance considers the surgery cosmetic, since its rhinoplasty.......though I am having things made more wide , not sure who would choose to do that. So I won't be having my last surgery. But I am pleased with the results of my others. Definately research it though.

Wishing you well, I know how sinus problems feel. UGH

OMG I feel for you....I battle sinus all the time. a friend explained to me once about irrigation with salt water, which seems to help. Here's a couple links of info on it : http://www.healthandyoga.com/sinus.html http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/alle...Irrigation.htm If you google it, there is a lot of info on it.
My friend told me her dr. told her to mix the salt water in a cup, pour it into her cupped hand, and 'snuff' it up her nose, and spit it out. Gross, I know, but when you're desperate! lol I think the neti cups would probably be better.

I have started using some natural stuff from a company, www.1800homeopathy.com and it seems to really help with the congestion. This co. is awesome...I have used their products for a couple other health problems and they worked great.

My dr. also had me try MucinexD (you have to sign for it here)..said to use that, advil or something for inflammation of mucus membranes, drink lots of water (we all should anyway) and have ample humidity in your surroundings. These things do help I believe. The Mucinex worked pretty well for me but I just wanted to find something natural since I need it so often.

i used to have severe sinus problems to where i was getting infections all the time and headaches and severe stuffiness to where if i sniffled it caused like a vapor lock and I couldnt breathe out my nose or mouth. the dr put me on astelin twice a day and nasonex and since then I have not had any sinus infections, i havent been stopped up and I can say I hardly ever need to blow my nose so ask your dr or allergy dr if you can try that also I use allergy eye drops(patanol) and that also will help with sinus problems so see if they can try you on those meds.(ones a nasal steroid spray) and see if that helps worked wonders for me

Yes I agree with you on the salt water. My sinuses have been driving me crazy and I think its time to do it. Guess its the rapid weather changes here. The salt solution really does help cause I have done it before even though it is gross. It does work!

Okay i know this will sound crazy but i was getting a haircut the other day and the lady that cuts my hair was telling me she "candles" Her shop owners ears. And you would not believe the wax that comes out. Anyway she says this helps ALOT if you have sinus problems, prone to ear infections etc. So what would it hurt to try. I am thinking of trying it. they take some sort of waxing thing and light the end on fire. I know it sounds strange, (asked her if it was painful) she says it is actually relaxing. I have been having alot of sinus trouble this year. Allergies i think. And getting pressure headaches. So maybe you could try that?
