Re: Credit Card Fraud
I do not know how people can do this. But it was not so long ago my son got a letter from his cc company saying to watch his statements because his was one of the thousands of credit card number stolen by a hacker.
Also read the fine print on those reward programs. Like speedway gas stations. Sounds convienent to just use your speedy pass to pay for gas and goods. But in the brocure fine print it states that even through neglect, and fraud by their company or an employee, no more than $10, yes, ten dollars, can be paid per incident. So if 1000 people are affected no more than 1 cent will be paid to each even if your loss is in the thousands.

Re: Credit Card Fraud
I have a speedy pass and use it to get points for the gift cards but have no bank account or credit card attached to it. I gave the brocure to my sons to read and asked them what they thought. They thought it was great until I showed them the fine print. It was a good lesson for them.

Re: Credit Card Fraud
I had a charge on my card about a year ago from a music store in Florida.
I live in Hawaii. I called my credit card company and told them the charge wasn't mine. Why would I buy a CD and pay to have it shipped here when I could go into any music store here and get it myself. I think it was an honest mistake. When the clerk entered the numbers he or she could have hit the wrong number. I know that now we just swipe our cards through the machines. The charge was removed.

Re: Credit Card Fraud
Sadly you have to stay on top of things anymore these days. I cancelled my DSL service with Verizon last month, they charged me and I am waiting for a refund from them and wouldnt you know Friday I get charged for DSL service for next month so I had to call and cancel my card that I have had for almost 20 years because Verizon says we didnt charge you well its on my Statement and says Verizon Online Services for $44.15 and thats what I always paid. Just give me the refund for the prior month, my bank is doing the dispute for me. It could have been an honest mistake but I dont think so. I have no plans of using my new cards I just cant take chances anymore, my nieghbor had her billing statements stolen and they ran up over $8,000 in charges on it, they took her bank statements and cleared her bank account out also, luckily the thieves were stupid they used their real addy to send things to so they got caught but my neighbor is still fighting all the chargebacks, she's got Police Reports etc and has been sued 3 times for big ticket items that were charged back, the items are in Police Custody until after the court dates.
