Pain killers, Social Security & Drug company
I have to laugh or I will cry. Hubby & I both on disability. A few months back before Medicare part d, hubby had no drug insurance nore did I and he had a transplant and me back surgery so we take a lot of pills. After lots of time, I got all of our pills from the drug companies. Trust me it was a full time job for 4 months, you constantly have to be on top of them.
My main painkilleers, Ultracet, always got messed up from the company. I would not get it in time or not get enough. Since they are a painkiller, they go right to my doctors office.
Now that we have medicaid too, not only is the Ultracet arriving monthly, I get double the pills! I have called them times to explain that I am on medicaid now& to please stop sending, send them to someone else. But, they always say I am canceled but still they come. I have asked my doctor if any of her other patients can use it, but she told me they can not do that. I have so much, I do not know what to do with them. I must have 20 bottles of 100 pills.
Of course, we got a call the other day saying that Social Security overpaid our lump sum money for our kids and we owe $2002.00. They are going to take 600.00 a month untid paid. I do not know what I am going to do w/o that money for 3 months. These stupid pills are over $200.00 a bottle. Wish I could sell them all for $25.00 a bottle and get back they money ssd will be taking!
Thanks for listening!

Re: Pain killers, Social Security & Drug company
My son had an over payment once of over 2 thousand $ and they were gonna withhold 350$ of that monthly till it was paid back so i called SS and told them of the hardship it would cause.....they dropped it down to $35 a month to be withheld. You should & need to call them, they are normally very easy to work with.

Re: Pain killers, Social Security & Drug company
You should definetly call and explain to them the hardship taking that much a month would cause for you. My mom did this when they overpaid her and they only took something like $60 a month, of course it will take alot longer to pay back but it would be better for you in the long run...good luck.

Re: Pain killers, Social Security & Drug company
I hope you got it worked out. They used to do that to my mom ALL the time, she doesn't get it anymore though. And if there is a Medicine Shoppe near you someone told my mom that they will take meds. provided that they are good to distribute to the needy although I don't personally know this. Also call local free clinic or health dept. maybe they can use them.
