    DH suspended from work

I know they are going to end up firing DH. This company will get rid of you if they dont like your attitude and I have been telling DH to knock it off. If you are not a team player and keep your mouth shut when they up your schedule and have meetings on your day off.

Oh, dear..I am sorry to read this..it is true, if you can't be apart of a TEAM, then this will and does happen, careful, here, upon his return he MUST change his attitude, and why?? Because of the given economy, many employer's, are NOT willing to pay UNEMPLOYMENT, and this is one way they can get around it..so you might want to caution him here..if he is returned to work, he is gonna have to "PLAY NICE"..really nice..this isn't a joke, this is what is happening, post 9/11...
It might be smart if he saw a therapist, kept those appointment's and upon his return to work, he can PROVE he has been trying to solve his, "issue's", or whatever PROMOTED this decision, to suspend him, it does look good, if one does try, to improve one's self..sorta like being 12 or some age, and being SENT TO YOUR ROOM, to think about this..
My 2 cent's..anyways..it is probable if he makes some sort of effort, he can make this work..it would look better..

Is this the same DH who played X-box instead of trying to hire new people for his department?

In the term's of the "X" law student, 6 days is not a good sign, how long was this suspension suppose to last, usually it is a 3 day one, if he has a handbook, that info should be explained, and factually if he signed an Employee Handbook,( and IF he has one and signed it, he is accountable and responsible) and that is explained, I wonder if he had a verbal warning and a written..but here is the KICKER, he probably is "employed at will" and if is the case, after the 3 day's he should have had a check issued by the company,( 24 hours after this notion) a meeting or letter sent, or an explaination of some sort, right there very well could be a VIOLATION on the part of the EMPLOYER..so I would contact your office of UNEMPLOYMENT..and if he is fired and no communication has occured he has some right's here, and if he is denied, you should APPEAL this, is the address current, phone? Also I do think the Employer, I maybe wrong, has NINE days and I can't remember if I am right or not, I think I am ,and again not sure if this counts weekends, to tell thier reason what happened, and why he was terminated.
Could it be he isn't telling you everything that happened, does he KNOW HE WAS FIRED and didn't tell you that?
You could always call his workplace and act as if you are a car salesperson, (or something) verifying his wage for a loan ( or something, a credit card), they might tell you however, "he isn't employed here, no wage verification", if you really want the answer..I can think of no employer who would risk this..something isn't right, and if they can verify his employment, and wage, then you know he has been violated.. or not..good and bad news..pending what has happened..

    Re: DH suspended from work

The employer has no obligation to limit a suspension to 9 days. The days involved in the suspension depend on the offense, and it isn't really clear what dh did to deserve the suspension. As to calling and pretending to check employment, why not just have dh call his supervisor and ask what is going on? There is nothing wrong with being direct. I have suspended people pending further investigation and sometimes you just can't conclude the investigation in the time frame you had planned. Sometimes it takes longer than three days to gather the info needed. I have suspended people for weeks on some occasions.

    Re: DH suspended from work

Actually in this case, and we have no FACT'S on it, I really do believe after nine days there must be some sort of communication and conculsion, and I think at least in Minnesota, this is true. And really because the author felt really uneasy and angry, I merely suggested she try another route, just to "see" what really could be going on, and if he has chosen not to call, and inquire and he is a family man, and a "breadwinner"..I might think of doing that, and then she would have a "piece a mind", on it.
Somtimes when a person is scared, and may know something and not tell is really a diversion of the inevitable.
I don't think it would be fair for him, not to have called and seen what was going on in term's of his employment.
    Just my 2 cent's..
