My dog is peeing all over my house!

She is an 11 yr old Pekinese. She did this once before but stopped soon after. We are just getting ready to re carpet the whole house. What in the world can I do? I love her to pieces but I can't tolerate this!!

This may sound crazy - but try anti-depressants! I had the same problem with one of my cats & my vet recommended kittie-prozac! He told me there had been great success with tiny doses of this stuff for animals with behavior problems & that tons of pets were saved from "The Shot" because of it. My cat ended up stopping on her own (I found out she taught herself to pee in the toilet (LOL!) & used my bed or the floor only when I left the seat down ROFL!!) If she were to start up again, though I'd make a beeline to the vet for the pills. Talk to your vet & I really hope this works for you - it's a shame to lose a great pet over stuff like this!

Awww I'm so sorry! The poor puppy! The only thing I can think of is to put down those puppy pads. Maybe shes doing it because shes getting old and her bladder is week. She might even have a bladder infection, I would take her to the vet. Please keep us updated and good luck to you!
Hope you have a Happy Easter!

That's what I was thinking, when my cat started doing that it was because she had a bladder infection. I hope you figure out why she is doing it before you get the new carpet.

You could buy doggie diapers they are made with denium and you can put a maxi pad in them if they aren't thick enough...I used them for a dog we had that was in heat...you can buy them at pet smart.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I will have her checked at the vets but may have to keep her in the garage at night now with her bed. She has a doggy door in the house so its not like she cant go out whenever she wants! I know there is NO WAY I am trying doggy diapers!

Hubby says we have to put her down if it doesn't get better so I have to figure out something.

    Can you keep her outdoors?

There is definately something wrong with the dog. She needs to see her doctor as soon as possible. If this is a new behavior then I would tend to think that she is ill.

I also was going to say there may be a bladder infection or a UTI. Make sure you get her to the vet as soon as you can. This could just be something an antibiotic clears right up! Keep us posted!

I would take her to the vet...and I would put my hubby down if he ever suggested putting my dog down for peeing.
