I'll never understand why some people don't..

like for people to care about them..I mean I'm not one for it either but just seems weird when you get worried about somebody else and they don't want you to be. For instance my best friend works at a police station doing something and ever since he told me he was gonna be working there I'm always afraid of him getting hurt then today he tells me "oh i gotta 5 inch gash on my arm from a knife when i got into a fight with a guy but it's no big deal" No big deal?! I bout knocked him half way cross the room(course i would never do that but..) he's even been shot at but it's like he doesn't even care..grrrr to people like that!

That's his way of saying, 'Hey, I'm a tough guy, I can handle it." Just his way of saying he's macho. I wouldn't take it personally. My father and bil are police officers. I have that He-Man attitude in my family, too.

Twinkies got it right. I have a friend who is a fireman and had gotten badly burned. No big deal to him. He was more upset that he needed surgery on his arm and would be out of work for three weeks than he was about the huge burn on the back of his neck.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.
