Re: The Election - happy or sad?
I'm neither happy nor sad. I was sad at first, but I understand why people would vote for Bush, so I don't think it's indicative of our nation's views at all - just that people are scared.
I also... -

Re: Ugliness on election day
The sad thing is that the woman actually had to call in to say something. She couldn't find something better to do with her time. That's really sad. Like she just sat there angry about it until she...

Re: Looks like four more years to complain
I think just the opposite. I think the election went the way it did because people are scared. They're more concerned about the war than the issues, not that I can blame them. I was glad to see that...

Re: Down Sleeping bags -- how do you wash/clean them ?
Dry cleaning is the only way to go! I've tried washing two down comforters, one of which was "washable" and they both ended up stinking like a musty old basement.

Re: Would you be ok with your spouse talking to his/her ex?
I'd ask him what his principle is exactly. That you can't tell him who to talk to? That he can talk to whomever he wants to, regardless of how it makes you feel?
Rational or not, if he was in... -

Re: DS's friend called me a cow
My first thought was that it might have been an inside joke and had nothing to do with you. It might have been on a film they watched in Spanish class, or maybe they were learning animals in Spanish...

Re: Meaningless ? of the day - can you drive
I can't and don't have any desire to learn, but I guess it wouldn't hurt since cars are cheaper with a standard transmission. It just seems so much easier to get an automatic.

I usually get up around 10am. 10 seems to be when my internal alarm is set, but I get up earlier if I fall asleep earlier.

Re: Why do people need to be like this?!?!
I think you need to decide how good of a friend this guy is. If you're a good friend, you'd tell him what's going on, plain & simple. If you're closer to your SIL then keep covering for her, but...

Wow, I've never heard of people doing things like that. Certainly not an older gentleman(?). I would defintely get motion lights if nothing else.
I hope things get better for you. -

I would leave the negative. You'd be doing people a favor by letting them know she's not trustworthy. They'd think twice about letting her bid on their auctions and you'd keep other people from being...

Re: Should I tell my friend the truth re her son's accident?
She knows he was drinking and he wasn't wearing a helmet. I don't think where he was driving will really change how she feels.
