If the crack is between the door and the jam itself you can buy foam stips that have a adhesive on one side. You just measure the amount needed, cut it and stick it on the door.

I use cloth and wash them every day too. Blech even the thought of sponges makes me get the heebie jeebies. My step mother use to use them and they would get so nasty and smelly.

Thankfully we don't eat any of that stuff on a regular basis. My son loves the fruit snack items but I limit him to only a box or two a year because I have read the labels. That list is gross.
