    Rewardtv Account Termination

I received an email from RewardTV today saying that my account will be terminated in 60 days . Looking at RewardTV's facebook page, a lot of people have also received that email. Did anyone here receive that email? Or does anyone have more information on this?

Yep, I'm going to file with the New York BBB against Nielsen. If enough of us do, a change might happen.

I suspect we don't fit within their demographics. Although I would've liked to determine when to quit, I see this as a way to move on to other things. Also our access to the trivia games will end before the 60 days and we will only have access to points redemption. For those who have been getting a free ride here, maybe they'll think of contributing now that several people will no longer be posting.

I am wondering what type of demographics are they looking for?

Although the most cherished demographic is the 18-24 group, if we were truly terminated for that reason, an age discrimination complaint could be pursued. The letter is intentionally vague, and those who participate in this forum are in violation of their recently changed (more explicit) "membership rules". The people complaining on the RewardTV Facebook page, however, may not have participated in a forum.

I received one too and emailed them, asking them to clarify what the "certain criteria" per the email are but haven't heard back yet. I don't really expect an actual answer but had to try.

Aaaaaaaand this was the very nonhelpful reply from Rewardtv:

    Dear RewardTV Member,

Thank you for contacting us. We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with the recent changes to your RewardTV account. The decision to terminate your account with RewardTV is in accordance with our Membership Policy. We appreciate your past participation and interest in RewardTV.

Wow. I didn't get that email, but I did notice the site calling attention to the revised membership rules that gtichman referenced.

And like ellchaf said, it means the vultures that circle this site and leech off others' efforts will now be on their own. It drove me nuts to take the time to type up all the questions and answers for a movie or show, and then have maybe one person click the Thanks button, despite the thread getting >50 views. It drove my participation in this forum down. I've always thought this forum should be viewable by logged-in members only, so you can at least see the usernames of the individuals who are here strictly to take and never to give.

My access to games has already been disabled. Hopefully everyone who has been cut off can get some prizes.

Ellchaf and gtichman, thank you very much for your contributions to this forum. It is a shame what Nielsen is doing to long-time players like yourselves and others. Cash out everything you can in the remaining time. Do you have large balances you need to spend in a hurry?

If it's any consolation, is playing games on that site really worth our time anyway? Say the average games nets us around 3,000 points. Given that 150,000 points are needed for each $5 in gift cards from the shopping sprees, that means we play each 5 minute game for about 10 cents. And that's only if we are lightning quick to redeem for a card when the shopping sprees go live! Heck, I'll probably move on down the trail myself after calculating that. My time is worth more than that.
