Paypal isn't working for Pinecone again.

I hope they automatically sent me a check for the $3 I redeemed 4 days ago.

For some reason they stopped using paypal. So now, I guess, we all get checks. At least I live in an area that is not in total lockdown, the banks are close, and the drive thrus are open. But I would prefer paypal.

My bank is on my way to work, so it's not too much of a hastle.
    I prefer paypal too.

I wonder why they aren't using them anymore?

I got an email from Pinecone today:

As this unprecedented and unusual year draws nearer to a close, the team here at Pinecone has some updates to share regarding your membership.

Mobile App: We are excited to officially invite you to download the Pinecone Research Mobile App. Our new and convenient mobile app gives you access to the full experience of your membership on the go. Not only are you able to take surveys and redeem your rewards, but you also have the ability to make updates to your panelist profile.

To get started, click either the iOS or Android download links below.

    iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pinecone-mobile-app/id1497166667

    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nielsen.pineconeresearch

Rewards Site: The Pinecone Rewards site is receiving a facelift! Browsing rewards options is now easier than ever and new catalog options are available. Starting October 6th, you can redeem your rewards via Direct Deposit (ACH) to a bank account of your choice. We added this as a secure way to receive cash rewards quickly and direct to you!

In addition, our offerings include virtual Mastercards and Amazon Gift Cards. Keep in mind that if you have joined our panel in the last 30 days, your first redemption must be via ACH Direct Deposit to verify your rewards account. After your first ACH Direct Deposit redemption or 30 days of being an active Pinecone member (whichever occurs first) you will have the ability to redeem your points for any reward option in our catalog.

Please be advised that our Rewards Site will be unavailable October 1st through 5th while our team works to make these updates for you.
I can't get on it to find out if Paypal is still an option. I hope it is, because I really DON"T want to give them my bank information. (Why is it companies like this always think this is a safe and secure option?? Giving out my banking info is NOT safe and secure. lol)

If Paypal, or mailing a check, is no longer an option, I may be dropping this site too.

The letter you got says "if you have joined our panel in the last 30 days, your first redemption must be via ACH Direct Deposit". If you are already a member for longer than 30 days, just get the virtual Mastercards or Amazon cards.

Well, the check option is now gone. Now, if you want cash, you have to give them your banking information and they will send to your checking account. NOPE! Not gonna do it!

Retail GC's start at $25. Virtual Visa cards are available, but I don't like those. Amazon GC's start at $3, but I really don't shop them that much.

Not sure what I'm gonna do now.

Cash in for Amazon and sell it to me, lol.
I think you can buy gift cards that you might use through Amazon as well.

I just did this with pine cone and did not have to give Pine Cone my bank info. IT is a third party website and I only gave them permission to put money in my bank account. IT is similar to paypal but it did use a secondary bank account that never has more than $100 in it and that I clear out at least once a month.
