swagbucks apps and other swag issues

I see this thread is mostly just for QR trivia and swagcode alerts but this is about swagbucks. I haven't seen any discussions anywhere about the swagbucks apps only working on android 5.0 and newer now. I understand they can't support really old android versions, but my 4.4.2 tablet still works just fine and now it's obsolete.

So, do any of you have suggestions for a way to make my tablet (or phone) a newer android version when it's as up to date as it can get just by 'checking for updates'? Is there a place to find reliable info how to get a newer version and install it, like with Windows versions Vista, XP, 7, 8, 10, etc. Or, is an update/upgrade impossible?

If no newer version can be shoved onto my tablet or phone I use for Swagbucks, are there any suggestions on inexpensive phones that have a new android version? I know 8/Oreo is the newest so I doubt I can get something that new for cheap enough to make it worthwhile buying just to swag on it, but... any suggestions?

Also, is anyone else seeing that on the Daily Poll on Swagbucks, you can see questions from previous days, but the only viewable comments are from the current day. My opinion is that this is to stop members from discussing issues or complaining about site/app problems. That's why I'm taking my issue off-site. I feel they'd delete it or me.
Thanks in advance, to those willing/wishing to discuss.

I think we will have to have new tablets. I have an older RCA Voyager that I bought 2 or 3 years ago specifically for running SB apps on, it works perfect on them. My hubby bought a Voyager at Walmart for the same purpose & it has a 6.0 OS, it won’t run them. I even tried installing the apps thru one mobile market instead of google play to no avail. I wish we could find a work around to run them.

I have read discussions on the phone issue and they suggested the cheap prepaid Dollar Store phones. I can’t give any insight on that because I haven’t attempted it.
